    Default Speed Bags

So I finally cleared out a space in my garage and I decided I want to put a speed bag up.

I dont really want to spend over $400 on one..so here are the choices.

Please let me know what platform you think would be best/least vibration and/or any other recommendations.

    And lastly...

(this one is 500 but if you guys think there with a substantial difference between this and say the $400 one, I might as well just spend the extra 100)

Thanks for any help in advance

Throw a few garbage bags of sand on the top, buy a pro swivel, and put a 6x4 peanut on that bitch and bam. I garowntee, you'll love it.

    That actually looks really nice..

Kind of unsure about the whole garbage bag of sand thing though...is that type of thing common for pretty much any speed bag you buy that isnt in the upper hundreds/thousands of $'s in order ot prevent vibration?

It's pretty common even for the ones you see for $999.00 on everlast and title boxing's site. It will cut vibration down immensely. One thing to note on the ibox platform from balazs is that it comes with a S swivel. Some people like them for doing tricks and such but other than that if you get a swivel like the Title delux pro swivel for $29.99, you can't beat the smooth action of it. I actually like it better than the platinum pro swivel for $39.99. Reason being is that it is shorter which makes the rebounds faster. You will have to drill 4 new holes for the swivel but that is easy to do if you have a drill, no what I mean? And it is definately worth it. If you are worried about sand spilling out maybe another medium can be used. Or triple up on the bags. Hope this helps with your choice.
Here is a link to the swivel I am talking about.

I made my speed bag platform for 20 bucks out of plywood, and some pieces of iron that I picked up at the hardwear store. It's sturdy and hardly vibrates at all. I couldn't afford to go cheap on the speed bag and swivel, I got a excellent leather everlast speedbag, with a great swivel to match. I wore out my last speed bag, to make the bag last longer you need to apply mink oil to keep the leather in good shape, and to keep the swivel oiled.

Anyways you should check out Von Milash's professional homemade platform. It's a thing of beauty.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.

    CC Chris N!

to the original guy, if you can't make one, go with number 3 or the balasz. But number 3 is my fisrt choice if I'm you. The ps-3 swivel it comes with is great.

on second thought, I'm not so sure abut the balasz. the swivel sucks (so you'll need a new one), the platform is thinner at 1-1/4" (vs 2) and the diameter is only 2', so like the man said, you'll need a small bag.
