Thaxton vs Stewart best British fight of the year? Spoliers

Thaxton came from behind in a gruelling fight to stop Dave Stewart in the final round.

Really good brutal fight, both fighters cut, Stewart quite badly.

I'd say it was my favourite domestic fight so far this year great action.

One thing is certain, Thaxton's next fight will NOT be against Amir Khan

Thaxton was wild and clumsey
Stewart was sharp but couldnt break and egg
againest a power hitter Thaxton is in more strife than FLASH GORDON!!!!!!!!!!!

in fairness to Jono he was too hyped and that was the problem in the earlier rounds, once he settled in i think the 7th he was making him feel his punches and i knew then that he would win it. TBH i never thought he was behind i thought he was at least 1 round ahead could have been even although i am a bit bias. but not as bias as Jim Watt who was really getting on my nerves last nght

Apparently Jono is now the number 1 contender for Khan title cannot see that happening haha

Mine too. Watts commentary was pathetic, as bias as I can ever remember. Half way through the fight when he revealed HE was Stewarts boyhood hero it was obvious why. Serious cringworthy stuff.

Agreed but he will still be a fantastic rough and tough test for Amir Khan hopefully next year.

Agree but i have seen him fight better he is just so passionate and determined to win the belt outright that is the most pumped i have seen i do think he will give Khan a hard time if he keeps his cool and boxes like he normaly does

Him and Khan will be a war imo. Would love to see that fight next year.
