Default So if Ruiz is out...would you rather see Liakhovich vs Valuev?

"The original offer, until a few days ago, was for two ex-champions to fight each other without any guarantees that it would be for any kind of improved position in the rankings. The most we could have won (by facing Ruiz) was to remain WBA number two. There was nothing to gain other than two ex-champions fighting off-TV. We are in a position in the rankings to fight for a championship soon if we don’t take any stupid offers like this one.” Gotzev further explains that he has in his possession a letter from the WBA ordering Team Liakhovich to begin negotiating with former champion Nikolay Valuev for an elimination fight to determine the #1 contender. “Nikolay Valuev has made an open statement that he is ready to fight Sergei. The letter we have orders negotiations between Liakhovich and Valuev or a purse bid would ordered. The WBA later allowed Valuev to take a tune-up bout first, with the provision he would face Liakhovich next. And Valuev now he says he’s ready to face Sergei – that’s the fight we’re angling for and we’re confident the WBA will do the right thing now and enforce their original order.”

Didnt really want to see this fight anyway, but that sounds like decent reasoning.

Yeah...I reckon so...but I actually (Lord strike me down) wanted to see Ruiz comeback into the mix just to shake things up.

You never know what's gonna come out of a Ruiz fight...aside from a lot of "mock man lovin".

Im actually not that disappointed for once with this HW match up i think this is a pretty decent match up a chance for both men to get back at the top i see Valuev winning a tough decision Liakhovich was impressive against Brewster if he can bring that kind of performance against Valuev he will give Valuev all he can handle.

I think he could rematch that bloke he lost to and get his revenge if he gets some good fighters under his belt like sergio. I like Valuev actually.

Honestly, I thought this whole schtick was just part of a really bad nightmare I had a few days ago. The thought of Ruiz being back in the mix of the wannabe HW psuedo-champs just made me want to hurl Exorcist-style.

After Lyakhovichs last performance the last thing I wanna do is see him fight period and to make it worst against Valuev.
Do you wanna fwocken bore me to death....

Truth is I've lost interest in a handful of fighters.
No one belived me when I said Chagaev would beat Valuev, and only a couple of people agreed with me when I said Ibragimov would beat Briggs.

    To WackOff3205:
You go on the Diaz vs. Diaz thread and post "for some reason I'm not interested in this fight" but you create this thread about who Lyakhovich should fight next Come on Wacks.... That's like whiping before you poop, it don't make no sense. I don't know if it's because you just don't like the Diazs or because you just haven't seen enough of them. But those 2 are gonna fight their asses off that night. Just something that caught my attention......

Oh go blow some trannie at a bus stop...it's boxing...it's worth talking about...but Diaz vs Diaz?

Couldn't they have come up with something better than that?!?!?!

First off, long time no sex, I mean see, Wacko. Secondly, Wacko WTF is up with you? Diaz vs. Diaz is for sure going to be a good fight. Lyhovich vs. Valuev MIGHT be a decent fight at best.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

I think you are giving yourself a bit too much credit really. I think the majority of people on here thought Chagaev would be a tough test for Valuev who lets remember should have lost to John Ruiz and stuggled to get guys like Monte Barrett out of there.

As for Briggs, did anybody think Briggs was going to win? I seem to remember loads of posts including my own about how Briggs would plod and wheeze his way through 12 rounds never throwing a punch.

I agree with you about the Diaz matchup though, for me any fight with Juan Diaz is an exciting fight, he's one of the most crowd pleasing fighters around imo.
