    Default Hamed v Barrera 2

Why didn't Hamed ever have the rematch with Barrera.

Sure he was outboxed and outsmarted but surely any fighter wants to avenge their losses.

Because he was embarrassed and because he had such a big ego he couldn't handle losing.

Hamed was smart enough to realize that no matter what he changed or adjusted. He wasn't going to beat Barrera. So he never pressed for a rematch. Hamed had no desire to get humiliated again.

I doubt it. Hamed realised that he had the money and stuff he still had the name so he had one more match and there was no hunger whatsoever so he took his money and his youth and retired. Probably the smartest thing for him to do since he was on the decline. Rather watch him go out while young and with his teeth then stay around when his reflexes and speed were shot and take unnecessary punishment

Actually i would of admired him alot more had he comeback and fought Barrera in a rematch all he is known for now is the way he got embarrassed by Barrera.

Nah, I respect him for the desision he made. He manned up and had no excuses..he said his training camp went well and he busted his balls but got beaten by a better fighter. Nobody ever retires and stays retired but Hamed did. Credit to him.
I can see your point though ICE..revenge would have been nice for him. I just have to give him credit for admitting he was the lesser fighter. Thought that was quite big of him.

Only by people who choose to see him that way because they don't like him.

He was one of the most exciting featherweights of his time and was THE MAN in that division until Barerra came along.

So he'd only be seen as just an overrated person who barerra embarrassed if someone wanted to ignore all his accomplishments beforehand

thats true, majority of fans just know that he was a big hitter but latered whoop by barrera. I don't agree in him retiring at all, he should of atleast taken a rematch and went for it all but for some reason he wanted no more of mab cause mab made him respect him the hard way. I think he realize he wasn't going to win much fights with his style, he was a hard hitter but a laid back showboat kind and that is no way to fight elites.

accomplishment? list them and lets see how truelly impressive they were I think most fans realize how overhype he was when mabman whooped him and him retiring that proved even he knew he couldn't hang with elites.

nope, i meant list who he defeated, you and I both know abc titles don't mean anything and even undefeated records don't mean anything if you have never beaten real great fighters.

Dude, you have seen his final bout against Calvo, haven't you? To my mind, that was an even worse performance than against Barrera even though he won. He was finished.

That wasn't true tho, he trained like shit, which prepared him to fight shit.
