    Default McCall-Gomez Tomorrow!

This is an interesting fight for the division because of where both guys stand right now. It really make or break for both guys. We all know what happened the first time around, but I'm hoping McCall can pull off the win and he has the tools to do it. Unfortunately, hes not any younger than the first time they met and Gomez has fought well since that fight. This may be McCall's last chance to getting to the Title fight hes been after for years now (although he should already have got a shot right after beating Sam imo). I saw the pictures from the weigh in and McCall looks excellent and its clear he hasn't been slacking at the gym. Gomez has looked better in the past but we will see. I'm pulling for McCall and I'm more optimistic about his chances so hopefully the old man makes it happen.

If Gomez "keeps his nose clean" he should duplicate first fight.I personnaly
would love to see The Atomic Bull (Great nickname) Pole axe him but I dont see it.
any one Know Where Its airing If at all.Its hard to believe how long and how deep Mccall has competed.

Call me crazy, but I think McCall still has the skills to beat any of the heavyweights out there, including Wlad. Says a lot about the state of the division, but it would not shock me to see him when a belt once again.

Gomez is the reasonable choice because he did beat McCall decisively i n a competitive fight, and Gomez has good skills. I do think McCall underestimated him going into the fight and think Gomez was in better shape then. McCall really looks like hes in incredible shape (I dont know how to post pictures or I would) and Gomez looks soft. Your right its crazy that at 42 over a decade after winning the title he still going strong.

Just the fact McCall is still fighting is a testament to the advances in anti-depressant medications.....

I was checking out the weigh in pic on fightnews and saw that Corey Sanders is coming in at 358?!?! Is that a typo for 258? I dont remember him being that big! He should be playing left tackle at that size.

Well, that's an easy mistake to make! Very confusing...

While Corrie Sanders' big claim to fame is beating Wlad, Corey Sanders (fighting tonight against Germany's big HW hope Steffe Kretschmann) remains the last man to beat Maskaev. Since then he seems to have been pretty useless though.

Speaking of tonight's card I am slightly dissapointed by Odlanier Solis' opponent. It was billed as Night of the Cuban Heavyweights, and apparently they were gunning for a world class opponent in Solis' 5th pro fight. However it turns out he is fighting journeyman Jeremy Bates.

At least Gamboa is fighting a 25-1 guy, even if I have never heard of Samuel Kebede before. According to Boxrec his only loss was TKO1 against Scott Harrison in a WBO title fight a few years back.

And overall again a pretty solid card from Oener - with McCall-Gomez the obvious highlight.
