JC Gomez defeats McCall!
In an important heavyweight bout, #4 rated Juan Carlos Gomez (42-1, 35 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision over #2 rated Oliver McCall (51-8, 36 KOs) to claim the WBC International championship on Friday night at the Estrel Center in Berlin, Germany. The quicker 34-year-old Gomez was able to outbox the 42-year-old former heavyweight champion to compile a big lead. McCall turned up the heat over the last few rounds, but never landed the big equalizer as Gomez went on to win by scores of 116-112, 118-110, 118-110.
