If you look at both fighters anyone can say that this is a must win for both of them...
This is def a crossroads fight but the funny thing is how I view the stock of both men should either win.
Everyone who has ever posted on this board knows I'm a Manfredo fan but I also really like Lacy. This fight intriques me because both of them need a boost. But what will this fight do for the stock of both fighters? Will it really be a boost for both of them?
Result: Lacy by KO(I do NOT see this happening)
What people will say:
Lacy's power is back after his surgery. He was expected to win. He KO'd Manfredo who has never been KO'd(yet many in the boxing comunity will say this was "supposed" to happen)
-Stock rises due to the KO that has never happened before. We as fans do put stock in the first time a man hits the canvas or is KO'd
Result:Manfredo by KO(Lets be serious)
What people will say: Lacy is finished. Calzaghe broke him. If this happened it would put Manfredo on another level and back in the title contension picture.
-Stock would climb drimatically and the "overrated" tag would loosen.
Result:Lacy by dec.(This is more fisable to me)
What people will say: Manfredo is and will stay a fringe contender. But people will wonder if Lacy really ever had "Power" or if it was just the opposition.
-Stock would rise slightly but questions about him ever again becoming champ would still be prominent.
Result:Manfredo by dec.(This is also a fisable outcome with the shoulder and confidence in question)
What people would say: Lacy was broken by calzaghe and was beaten by a "contender". It will be a long road back to contension and Manfredo just may be better then we all thought.
-Stock would rise much higher then it is now having a name of a former champ on your resume with only one lose.
Resultraw(This another fisable conclusion)
-Stock of Lacy would drop and Stock of Manfredo would rise.
This is just how it works out in my head and what it seems to me is that minus a KO of Manfredo, Lacy's stock takes the most hit on this fight. Basicly Manfredo Jr. is supposed to lose but a dec. would not really help his stock but maybe his confidence. I don't see Manfredo being KO'd by Lacy.
