    Cabazon, CA: Michael Katsidis of Australia and Joel Casamayor of Cuba, who will be fighting for the WBC Lightweight title and the Ring Magazine title tomorrow afternoon at the gorgeous Morongo Casino Resort in this city some 2 hours east of Los Angeles, completed the required weigh-in just moment ago.


    Katsidis tipped the scales at 133 ¾ while Casamayor was 134 ¼.

    The fight is a promotion of the Golden Boy Promotions and will be shown live on HBO after Dark.

    Katsidis nicknamed “Rocky” for his habit of putting memorable, action packed fights will be staking his unbeaten record of 23-0-0 (20KO) in his attempt to dethrone Casamayor.

    Casamayor also named “ El Cepillo” once lived under the iron rule of Fidel Castro in Cuba but escape on the eve of the 1996 Olympics to try his fate in the free world will defend his crowns against the brawler from down under who is also an ex-Olympian. He presently parades a record 35-3-1 (21KO).

    Katsidis will take this. Casamayor is good but too long in the tooth. Katsidis is riddled with holes but he is young, hungry and packs a punch.
