I do not even think this will be Joe's hardest fight, what worries me more is that when Joe beats Hopkins there will be every excuse under the sun coming out as to why....and not least " Yeah but he wouldn't have beat him in his prime" this fight may get messy and untidy at times and certainly won't be easy for either....simply put, at this stage in there careers Joe is the better option and fresher fighter,
The guy ain't been beat amateur or pro since 1990 and this is his destiny....is Joe so far beneath Taylor that the form line should suggest a Hopkins win.....I don't think so, do you think Hopkins hits so much harder than say Lacy, that he can knock Joe out I don't think so, in fact has Joe ever looked like being knocked out NO...And to Hopkins, is he as fast or as strong even as Kessler, again I don't think so...
There may be those who think that he can hustle Joe out of it...but on what basis is this, it for sure ain't because he is bigger and or stronger....Joe is as strong and as rough and tuff as they come, with all the ability in the world,
And I think the opposite to the Hopkins fans in hat Joe will not be phased fighting in the states, he is relishing this he really is, and I feel he will frustrate the holy hell out of Hopkins, and though I don't feel he will knock Hopkins out, I do feel that he may stop him with a later onslaught that Hopkins won't be able to cope with and the Ref intervening
Lets look at the two fighters today and be realistic in our assessments...This is a bigger fight for Joe and he will want it more...because like it or not HE IS STILL UNDEFEATED AS A PRO, all Southey's are prone to the right hand, but is to days Hopkins fast enough, or does he hit hard enough to single shot Joe out of it, I don't think so, is he busy enough to out work Joe, again I don't think so...
In all honesty, other than being in his own backyard, and getting rough....factors I really believe Joe is relishing, what else has Hopkins got...and before I get my head kicked in verbally by violent demise, please understand all I have typed is done out of an honest assessment of two Boxers I have the ultimate respect for, and not on some silly fan boy basis......
I honestly can not see what this years Hopkins has that in the past could not cope with Taylor, but can now cope with Joe Calzaghe...So Joe to win by three or four rounds with a possibility of a late stoppage, on accumalation rather than single shots....
Joe will win because he has to, and in the past when questions have been asked, he has always delivered, has Hopkins always delivered..... Ill say it one last time, I don't think so...
