Default Kermit Cintron: Where to now?

Cintron has obviously improved but still lacks the mental toughness to beat MARGARITO but no one else has gotten to him.

I think Cintron has a lot to learn but if he can hone his skill even better he can continue to be a force in the welterweight division as well as at 154.

I would like to see Cintron fight these fighters in the near future: Carlos Quintana, Luis Collazo, Zab Judah, Isaac Hlatswayo, Andre Berto, and Joshua Clottey.

He has to toughen up mentally to be a good title holder

mental toughness? are you pissed or what?

he did fight the wrong fight, but he was put away with a body shot that would put anyone away during that point, he took a fucking hell of a beating and kept trying.

Hey buddy just look at his body language...he's worse than Shane Mosley with his body language. He shows when he's frustrated, scared, and believes he's losing.

You can see as a fighter when you're getting to him mentally and when he starts doubting himself and his ability. It takes mental toughness to shrowd that and not give your opponent any momentum

Yeah again I agree, especially on the mental toughness part it's obvious. How many times did he look to the referee in that bout? A few times he wasn't even hit on the back of the head. The first time Margarito was warned, he came back and landed 2 clean to the side of the head in front of the ear and Cintron still complained but was not bailed out that time.

Kermit has heart but he just doesn't know how to handle things when the going gets tough. He gets overwhelmed too much and he's probably always gonna be like that. Cintron's problem is he can't handle extreme pressure fighters and realistically Tony's pressure is one of a kind at 147 because he smothers you and doesn't stop throwing punches. Cintron is a contender as long as he's not in the same ring as Margarito. He basically ducked Williams to fight Tony and that was probably the biggest mistake of his life. He can be champion again but he's always gonna be a headcase. I wouldn't say his career has peaked but he can never be considered champ at 147 with Margo around. Maybe he needs to go to 154.

Manny Steward fighters all seem to be very poor infighters.

I don't think he wanted too.. I dont think he had the tools to keep Margarito off of him. I think he just gave up and settled on trying to land that big bomb

There are a few fights at 147 for Cintron, but I can't see him being in the top 5. Maybe he should try his luck at 154. I don't see Cotto, Margo, Floyd, or Mosely going to 154 until the smoke clears. His best chance at 147 is the winner of Quintana-Williams. Tony will more than likely fight Cotto, and If Mosely wins, he might get Floyd if he wins. Those are the likely scenarios, IMO. A win against someone decent at 154, and Cintron could try for a shot at Forrest. It's not like big names are knocking at his door right now.

That's actually what I was gonna say. 147's just two deep with guys that are just a bit (or a whole lot) too good for him. If he stays at 147 try to get a shot with Zab, why not, maybe he could land a bomb. Maybe Paul Williams since he doesn't hit hard but that's still a tough fight. Maybe Collazo since that he's not gonna get punished or anything, he might just get outboxed. Stay away from PBF, Cotto, obviously Margarito, Mosley, Clottey, etc.

Thats what confused me because he looked like he had no chance but stayed in instead of keeping a safe and comfortable distance.

Marg was Cintron's kryptonite. 2 things you have to consider:

1.) Not everyone would be able to take Kermit's power.

2.) Even if they could take his power, would they have the arsenal and the balls to stand with him and bang? Because long range,he's going to destroy you.

I think Cintron beats or gives dam tough fights to:

    Clottey
    Judah
    the Williams that fought Quintana
    Collazo

I don't think Kermit is the bum he's made out to be. I think his power can get him out of ALOT of trouble. I mean some of his ko'es are SCARY! It depends if he can rebound,he's cretainly young enough.
