To auction , though the Champ of WBO WW , Carlos "El Indio" Quintana , is asking over $400,000 for defend his World Title with P.Williams , if he and his Promoter Don Goossen doesnt get an agreement , the fight is guide to an auction for determine the Purse for Quintana....
The WBO declared yesterday to P.Williams mandatory challenger of WW Champ Quintana to ordain an auction for determine What Promoter will going organize the fight and the Date , commented yesterday the President of WBO Francisco Valcarcel........

Valcarcel explained; " The fight has to be as minimum 45 days after the Auction , also Williams will be place to #1 , because the firsts classified is that is available ".......
" Naturally this situation Don Goossen doesn't like it "

Goossen commented; " Quintana earned $160,000 in the first fight and for the rematch have $400,000 over the table , but he want more money and is Normal , but we have an agreement with TV and have more money , if we going to an Auction , will going have less money and no guaranties for get a Date in TV , because even HBO and Showtime going programming a Big Fight during the Olympics Game...........
"Also the only opportunity to save that Date is that Quintana change his opinion , but the " Time is Running " in which his negative to not accept the Purse that offered him for fight with Williams in Jun/7/08.......

While Quintanas Lawyer , Gary Penagaricano accepted that the Pay that Quintana want is Really Far on what Goossen offered......
And recognized that in an Auction doesn't have any guaranties , we didn't close any doors is just Quintana decision , but what i see Quintana doesn't going accept this offer........

I'm really surprise in what happened to Quintana , they got him by his Balls , i hope he have Luck man.......He deserve what he want .......

The fucken networks, promoters and the WBO are pining Carlos against the wall. That's fucked up....
They're putting him in a situation he doesn't have to be. This smells really bad, like a set up to try and redeem the loss and have Williams possibly face the winner of Tony-Cotto.

Now Carlos has to decide whether he wants to go with the fight OR fuck it! drop the fucken belt. He should know the people/fans understand why he wont take the fight. They wanna cheat his ass out of money that he deserves and that's fucked up. Carlos is in quite a predicament here.... He needs to think this through.

This is unbelievable!! I can see promoters trying to earn all money without throwing a punch and... I wonder how much was Williams offered to fight his "Punisher".

Well have some rep for keeping us up to date on this Macho, don't think this has been covered anywhere else. Very interesting, Dan Goosen has always struck me as a fair man, I've been able to talk to him fairly and as a former trainer he has always been for fighters getting a fairer cut and trainers too. Trainers cuts pale in relation to the manager's keep. So in that respect I wouldn't expect him to seemingly jerk a fighter around like this but he's in a suit now where his job isn't to look after the fighter but his pockets so I guess this is possible. Hope Quintana gets what he wants without forcing this off TV.

This fight needs to be talked about more imo, the first fight wasn't a blowout and had very good action.

A while back I tipped Quintana over Cotto because of Cotto's lack of polish and because Quintana can box beautifully. Cotto stepped his game up and improve mightily and that is a testament to Quintana. He's very good and will be around for a while. I think he might be the best of that second tier, everyone not named Cotto or Mayweather.
