ok he has power, but seemed way too open, probably can out muscle Phillips for his IBF title, but IMO Vernon Forrest will outbox him and probably even stop him late

He is pretty raw in the defense department,No doubt he can hit with menace.Im not convinced either with this "never heard" training methods cooked up by Ann Wolfe etc.Nothing beats learning how to slip a straight punch or good footwork.....He needs to,Also some rounds are greatly needed.
honestly i think the extremely boring Cory Spinks would make Kirkland look stupid if Spinks comes well trained, and i think Spinks is a piece of shit lol
Yea a real strong boxer with the determination for finish his opponents , but in addition of that what others skills he have , for work his opponents in a differents situations ?

Last night was the first time I've actually seen him, and you can't be anything but impressed by that performance imo.. Albert was a good fighter and Kirkland absolutely crushed him right off the bat.. He may have leaky defence but I certainly couldn't take that from this fight, he didn't get hit with anything and got to his man instantly. Definetly excited to see him fight again and step it up. This was a solid step up on paper but he does need some rounds.
i agree, i just don't think he's ready for the actual top at the division, IMO Spinks (garbage), Forrest, maybe even Santos or Alcine, will be too much for him right now, he should maybe try to look for a ESPN2 headliner fight against K-9 Bundrage, seeing how he did a pretty impressive job against Ouma, and it would be a slight step up, but nothing too drastic, allow him to work on a couple things, mainly in defense
If anyone hasn't seen James Kirkland's latest fight you know where to look fellas.
