In view the surprising of the " Retirment " of WBC Champion WW Div... Mayweather Jr. , the Oscar Trainer " Mayweather Sr. commented that the next rival for ODLH should be the winner between Cotto vs Margaro fights , Oscar and the winner between them would be a real great fight , that was the opinion of Mayweather Sr. in an interview in Boxing Coverage updated 24/7 at MaxBoxing.com .....................

Now that Ricky Hatton refused an offer with Oscar to fight in Sept.20 , now he using again the name of Cotto for publicity , he in the end of fight with Forbes , he said that he dont want fight with Cotto because his wife asked him that not fight with any others Puertorican boxers , i think that he now dont give a mind how he would finish his career this year....

I think if De la Hoya does ask Cotto for a fight it just proves the theory that he's only in boxing for the money.

I know Oscar was a good fighter, but let it go down in his hall of fmae record, Oscar was and is a greedy money hungry bully.

Oscar is a Light Middlewight.
JHe has to get down to that weight.

He hasn't fought a light middleweight or a man equal his size since Hopkins. Each fight since he's made the opponent come up to facilitate himself.

ODLH was way out of his comfortable weight at Middleweight and Hopkins is naturally much bigger man than ODLH. Secondly how does ODLH wanting to fight Cotto prove ODLH is a money hungry bully ?? majority of people think Cotto would beat ODLH making ODLH the underdog. So doesn't that take bottle from ODLH wanting to take on a dangerous opponent like Cotto at this stage in his career ?? Thirdly what fighter would you want ODLH to fight at Light Middleweight that appeals to you, more than a Cotto vs ODLH fight ??

Once again you come up with something I never said.

I never claimed or stated that De la Hoya is equal in size to Bernard Hopkins. I may have alluded that Oscar is of a more similar build to a middleweight than the Welters and Light Welters he is calling out, but I never claimed he was equal in size to Bernard Hopkins.

Oscar claimed last year he was the Junior Middleweight Champion of the world. A title that he won having dropped back down from Middleweight. Do you find it strange that Oscar has not faced an opponent that was previously active at 154 since 2003 when he faced Shane Mosely?
Why not fight a Light Middleweight rather than pick on smaller me.
For me a bully is someone who utilises their natural physical advantage to pick on opponents of a lesser physical size and obtaining an advantage befor training ever begins. Is this not what Oscar is doing?

Any fight at 154 appeals to me more than Cotto/DLH. The Cotto DLH fight has no relevance. If DLH wins is he Welter Champion, despite having not competed against anyone in that weight class this decade? (?)
The only relevance this has is to Oscars pockets.

I agree Poom , but not like he would like to.................

If ODH fights Cotto at 147 I'll have much respect for him, such a fight would legitimise the winner's right to fight Floyd, who may be back if the price is right and the chorus loud enough. Beating ODH will give Cotto the mainstream exposure that Floyd simply could not ignore, I'm thinking this is what Floyd has in mind all along.

I mean, everybody keeps saying ODLH is no good, he's afraid, he doesn't deserve a spot on the hall of fame, etc. And now that he might fight Cotto people start to moan and groan for one reason or the other. If he fights for a big purse, that's terrible. If he fights against a big name, that's terrible too. I just don't understand.

That stuff about Oscar not wanting to fight other Puerto Rican fighters because of his wife is such utter nonsense, and the type of thing that pisses me off about Oscar. Before, it was because of his wife. Over the last few months, we have heard sprinklings from Oscar about possibly fighting Cotto after Floyd. What happened to not fighting Cotto, a Puerto Rican, because of his wife? Pure dodge ball bull.

De La Hoya's only two options imo are Cotto or a rematch with Sugar Shane. De La Hoya-Cotto would be a barn stormer but Cotto has to get past Tony first.

To fight the big names? Can you really sit there and say honestly that he did not make the Forbes fight happen just to get a win? What is the last quality win he has had over a top ranked opponent in his own weight class? Other then a gift over Felix Sturm it has been 6 years! That was his win over Fernando Vargas.

Lets say he did make it down to 147 and fought Cotto or Margarito and lost. What would be next? Jorge Arce? Nonito Doniare? How about Ivan Calderon? I mean hey they are top names right?

Alfonso Gomez was a man in the same weight division ranked in the top ten by the sanctioning body in which Miguel holds a world title in. Making it a legit match regardless of Gomez skills.

What title did Oscar hold? What was the point of having Forbes a much smaller man who could not even make 154 the division Oscar fights in. That is what the catch weight was for. Not to mention natural physical size.

It is like being the toughest kid in the 12th grade because you beat up all the 7th grade kids over at the middle school.

The whole everyone deserves one is crap. If DLH fought a natural 154lb fighter ranked 200th and had lost his last 10 by KO I would have given him more respect.

The title of that fight card should have been

"Because I need a win!" To top it off he looked like crap and was marked up by one of the softest hitting guys in the sport. In all reality in was nothing but an embarrassment all around for him.
