Default Have you seen Jermain Taylor?

He was boxing's story. Used up for as long as he was useful. For it, then when he was no longer useful does he just not exist anymore?

I haven't heard anything new about him just as i havent heard anything new about lamon brewster and kassim ouma.

Its a shame really good fighters once they lose the media never wants to pick them up again but we have to sit through the same fighters shoved down our throats after a loss for the "comeback" theory.

Yet where is Kassim Ouma, Jermain Taylor, Lamon Brewster..

Are we just supposed to forget they exist?

Kassim's lost his last to Cornelius bundrgae and a previous to a guy called Saoul or something.
These back to back defeats, following the gutsy display against Taylor turned the Dream into a Nightmare.

Taylor only last fought in Febuary, it's not unusual to be off this long between fights these days. I know he's supposed to be going to super middle.

Lamon Brewster has some kind of severe eye problem and has for a while. he had practically no chance in his re-match with Wladimir Klitschko due to it.

Kassim Ouma has now lost 3 in a row, losing to Taylor was forgiveable as he tired his best and was out sized, but since then he's lost to 2 passable guys and it'll take alot to get him back into title contention after that.

I thought Brewster was going to turn up the heat against Klitschko, but after that performance, I'm convinced he's at least semi-retired. He didn't fight with any passion and after he was talking about having something left of himself for his wife and kids. That's fine and all, but for his style of fighting it isn't good for his game.

Taylor will be back and he will make a mark at super middle. He is a tough fight for anyone there.

Think he is taking time out after the chaotic few years he has had with hopkins/pavlik and is gonna bide his time until either HBO or showtime find him marketable enough again to give him a decent pay day.

Nobody likes to be remembered in defeat. As long as jermain is sensible enough not to get in with guys like kessler/bute he should do just fine!!

It's hard to take your question serious with that Giant tribute to Michael Jackson at the bottom of you post.

What I want to know is what happened to Travis Simms, he looked like he had all the skills to dominate at 154 he then looked horrible against Alcine inactive and unmotivated and just stopped fighting.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Jermain will be fine, the guy was elevated and toted bt HBO then scrutinized to Holy Hell... Meanwhile he was humble and never bought into his own Hype. He was at the top and fell 1/2 way. Still plenty of opportunity for him at SW or LightHeavy... He has speed, power and a chin. JT just needed to get his head screwed on a little bit better in which he looked pretty good in the 2nd Pavlik fight, he came up a few rounds short in a fight that was hard to judge anyway. He just started to fade down the stretch.

He has plenty to compete with Kessler, Miranda, Abraham, Tarver, Johnson, Lacy, Andrade, Bute etc. I would favor him over Dawson as well.

Good for him to kick back and relax. He has millions and a very young family, not to mention he is a good old fashion Arkansas boy who rather stay out of the limelight anyway

I do not think Taylor is any where near finished...just staying under the radar after long run at the high profile top.The man is arguably..IMo coming off one of his best fights.I know,I know he lost to Pavlik but coming back from that prior destruction, showing adjustments and being on the end of a very narrow descision...I had Pavlik by one point thanks to strong 11th.I think move up in weight will extend longevity.

I actually talk to Kassim Ouma not long after his last fight in which he lost. He said he doesn't really no what he is going to do the word retirement did come up and he does seem to be more interested in getting his kids with him,and the promotion of his movie that came out in the Independance Film Festival in New York a couple of months ago.

Kassim Ouma just fought 2 1/2 months ago and was KO'd in fact he has lost his last 3. It is not unusual to not hear from a fighter for a few months after a bout. He is still signed with GBP.

Jermain Taylor is supposed to fight Jeff Lacey last I heard a few weeks ago.

Lamon Brewster has eye problems. He had a detached retna after his fight with Liakhovich it healed up then was detached again in the Wlad bout I heard. As far as I know he is healing.

I hope he gets a fight with Lacy as he should easily get the win.
