Thread: BAD Card: Juan Diaz-Katsidis, Rocky Juarez-Jorge Barrios

This is news to me, maybe it isn't to others, either way I don't see a thread about it. According to boxingscene, this is set, September 6, Houston, Texas, on an HBO BAD card, Barrios-Juarez as the co-feature.

I like it. I will be intensely rooting for Diaz and Barrios. Diaz cause I'm a huge fan, Barrios cause I'm anti-Rocky Juarez.

The only thing is that Diaz and Katsidis are both young, exciting fighters and a second loss in a row for either of them could be tough. Oh well, how it goes I guess.

Diaz does not fight well with alot of presure put on him... That's HIS game... Kind of like how body punchers don't like it to the body... Kats will break down Diaz faster then Campbell did... Diaz doesn't punch with half the power Casa does... Diaz won't be able to keep him off... Sorry OumaFan but I think your man's going down

It should be a good fight. As a Diaz fan I worry that he doesn't take it that well to the body and Katsidis' best work against Casamayor was his body work. But I totally disagree about him breaking Diaz down faster than Campbell. There is nothing that Katsidis does as well as Campbell, Nate is twice the fighter that Katsidis is. He did pretty well against Casa but that was a past it Casa IMO.

Should be a good fight, I'll stick with Diaz.

Damn straight, it will be a good fight... I have been pretty excited about this one... I heard about it about 2 weeks ago... I hadn't heard about Barrios... That's even better.

I like Juan Diaz. I have since he came on the scene... But I've been a Gatti fan for most of my life so when I see a resurgence of another Gatti, I jump on that bandwagon and drive it like it's stolen...

In any event... It will be a great fight.

I think Juarez is boring, always have but that could turn out to be a decent fight. If anybody can make Rocky open up and fight it would be a relentless guy like Barrios. Actually, not happy about this but right now I might pick Juarez.

Yeah Juarez definitely needs someone to engage him. I don't know what his problem is really, he is boring for no reason. I mean he has the look and build of an exciting fighter and each fight he just doesn't deliver excitement even though it's best that he does throw a lot of punches to win.

I was looking forward to his bout with Hernandez on the DLH-PBF undercard but he didn't deliver. Hernandez tried to make that fight more fun then it was.

I've always been big on Barrios, crazy guy way cooler then Ricardo Mayorga imo. I will be rooting for him.

I don't know why Juarez is fighting at super-featherweight. He even said himself he feels much better at featherweight and yet he continues to fight at the above weight. What a joke.

Thats not a bad card, it sounds like a good card actually.
This Juan Diaz Vs. Katsidis fight should be a spectacle, what a matchup of exciting styles, this is one you don't wanna leave to get a beer so have a cooler nearby. I can't pick anyone in that fight but I suspect Diaz has a bit sturdier chin than Kats and Kats having a bit more power. The Juarez Vs Barrios I'm going with Barrios unless he comes out just rusty as hell, he has had a looooong time away. The only thing Juarez has over Barrios is technique and a real jab. He was a bit cautious against marquez, but I think that was because Marquez made him pay every time he opened up. Juarez could outbox him if he keeps his defense tight, and doesn't trade when Barrios wants to. IMO Barrios will need a k.o. to win this one.

I think Kat's gets Diaz in the late rounds......nice intensity throughout but Diaz has but one gear and no Reverse.Will be nice to see how both rebound from big time losses.....

Juarez bores the piss out of me,one trick ponny & gets more oppurtunitys......He's the old Buffalo Bills...... I hope eratic at times Barrios 1st losses those ugly as f!!! sun glasses and 2nd, out hustles to a Unam.12 over Repeat Juarez

I think Diaz will beat up Katsidis. I see the fight being stopped around the 7th or 8th. Maybe sooner. Casamayor already soften Katsidis up.

I see Juarez beating a rusty Barrios by lopsided UD

I never been a Diaz fan. So him getting knocked out wouldn't bother me at all.

My dislike for him pretty much goes back to the Ubaldo Hernandez fight. When he busted out crying. Yeah I know he was young. But come on. There is no crying in Baseball. What the hell made him think there was in Boxing?
