Default Oscar vs (cough)... Pac: State your case here

Again, for the record... I'm a Pacquiao fan and NOT a De La Hoya fan. But this sh*t's getting downright ridiculous. And it's all playing into DLH's hands. He gets his safe, "off into the sunset", legacy-making fight, with no danger of losing or getting his pretty face messed up. He beats one of the top p4p fighters today, with a slew of maniacal fans who think Pac can take on not only DLH, but Pavlik, Klitschko, and King Kong as well.

Pacquiao gets his loss, but gets no flak for being brave enough to fight someone of Oscar's caliber and size. And "The Roach" gets his money, his exposure, and..... hey... it's not HIS ass getting whomped out there.

But seriously, Pac fans.... just what about this fight makes you believe that Pac has a chance in hell to win? And please, spare me the arguments I've heard so far............

me: But Pac is much smaller than DLH. And DLH is a good boxer in his own right, with good speed. Pac will not be able to get into exchanges with DLH without getting hurt or KTFO.

Pacdbest2: PAC SI THE BESTX!!!!ARGGGHHHH!!! ROACH SAID HE'D WIN!!!!! WE WANTS HATTON, THEN PBF, THEN ALL AT ONCE!!!!! YEAH!!!!! ARGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!! PAC # 1 !!!!!!! WE LIVE FOREGBVER!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!

I agree with Coach Roach's assessment that Hoya can't pull the trigger anymore (or slow in pulling the trigger). Super fast PAC can capitalize on this by beating Hoya to the punch and getting out of Hoya's range before he can pull the trigger.

Saying that I give PAC 1% chance of defeating Hoya...

This is a no win situation for Hoya. The guy(Hoya) always talks about his legacy blah, blah, blah... And this is how he finishes it! Stupid move on his part.

Catch 22.....to argue it or break down strategy would only validate this Big name, hysteria driven,P.T Barnum-Esq Farce of a fight.

DelaHoya needs to retire/step aside.........for a change or in light of his proposed rematch with Mayweather falling through, match with the Cotto/Margarito winner= Margarito!!

and Super-Pac the almighty needs to get down to serious buisness matching with weight similiar threats & contenders Soto,Guzman,Campbell, etc.

Precisely! And it seems the vast majority of knowledgeable boxing fans out there feel the same way.

But hey.... if Pac is truly hungry for a big name at a higher weight.... how about Hatton? I know Hatton lost some of his luster after his loss to PBF, but he's a big name also, with a huge fan base.

IMO, a Pac-Hatton fight would make more sense from a size standpoint, would match up two fighters with huge fan bases.... and would still generate lots of $$$.

For anybody that does not think this is rediculous. Are you aware that Pac has already gone up 5 weight classes and is still 2 weight classes below 147.. I mean, I've never even heard of something like this before.

    Motivating factor to fight ODLH:
    PAC/ROACH= MONEY
    FANS=simply DELUSIONAL

    Motivating factor to fight PAC:
ODLH= EASY MONEY and EASY FIGHT

    RESULT: CIRCUS OF A FIGHT!!!

I could see Hatton/Pacquiao.....Should Hatton take care of Paulina in Impressive fashion thus shaking off Mayweather residue (?) and Pac sitting at 135 unifying a strap. No doubting they're respected fan bases are huge and the numbers would be pretty good.

I believed in PAC when he said he can beat Hoya. Coach Roach also said PAC can beat Hoya. There were other (though very few) boxing personalities (James Toney, Larry Merchant, Samson Lewkowicz, etc.) that gave PAC a chance to beat Hoya.

PAC has my support on this... I could be delusional...

Pac needs to clean up the 135 division before fighting DLH, lots of names there. Campbell holding 2 belt is claiming the king of 135

But DLH sensing he's getting old needs to fight someone on top, the top P4P Pac, which he think is an easier match compared to Cotto, or Margarito

But Pac being P4P is no way matched to DLH, we can't gauge DLH because of his last fight with Forbes which is a sleeper.

Besides believing in PAC that he can defeat Hoya and the other few who gave PAC a chance against Hoya, I only supported this fight since this will be the last fight of Hoya. I considered PAC as the most deserving boxer right now to land in this last huge payday with Hoya.

PAC already gave so much to boxing and it's just righteous for boxing to reward him with a shot, the very last shot with the undisputed money man of boxing in DelaHoya.

woow....im very surprised that very few people in this forum gives pac a chance....a lot of people here talk a lot of shiet about pac going up to face dhl......if its dhl last fight, i rather WATCH him face pac than margarito, pbf 2, cotto, hatton..etc.. if pac looses, oh well, its his decision and its a win/win for him anyways.
This fight won't be as much of a mis match than dhl vs hopkin, cotto vs marg type fight but will probably display that much of a difference in size.

stop this shiet talking, if they wanna fight, let them fight so we all can bbq and drink to it.

p.s. im speaking for the casual boxing fans who would actually pay and buy ppv just to have a reason to bbq, drink, and talk a lot of shiet while drunk....im all for this fight.

Money talks and the pacfans are delusional enough to let this go ahead so I think it will happen in December

Not sure its the onesided beatdown everyone thinks it is though. De La Hoya loses more than he wins these days and is over the hill so he is perfectly qualified as a Pac opponent . He never once hurt Frobes who is a former superfeather and his stamina has been sus in the past.

Pac has the speed to dart in and out early and avoid the big shots, he is also much fitter and will be quicker on his feet. I think the bout gets to the midway stage and this is when Hoyas size starts to tell. Manny will slow up and Oscar makes it a more physical type of fight. Once in the driving seat De La Hoya will pick his shots and end it in the 8th or 9th with a well placed body shot . Pac wont try and get up. The fight will be over and Oscar will say he has one fight left in him. Pac will go back to Manilla still an attraction and there will even be talk of a return . Thats how I see things panning out anyway .
