What was your first experience like as an amateur boxer getting into the ring for the first time?

Since I pissed my amateur years away,Ill give you how I felt going in to my first martial arts tourney
I was scared as hell,I dont really remember much of it,I was so amped up. I probably hit the guy 3 times as hard as I meant to,because the adrenaline was going insane.
I wasnt scared he'd hurt me,I was scared that Id embaress my dojo
Id done boxing, and a wee bitof street fighting, but I had the utmost respect for my sensei(who by the way gives me s constantly about running a boxing gym)and I didnt want to be a cause of humiliation.
Judging by the second place trophy I donated to the Dojo though,I think I did allright that day
Scary. Eye opening. Huge adrenaline rush.
My first one was at Mottingham Kent, calm as you like. The second I was Shitting myself Manor Place Baths 1, 400 there shit won in the second. My third got stopped in two on TV Grandstand, Oh Fuck. Then went on a run of about 16 wins then got beat in the London Finals by Billy Wells old cunt
. After I lost on a Majority, my Coach said to me that one of the Judges was Punch Drunk. I asked which one his reply the one who voted for you

I remember me first sparring session as a kid(about 11or12)and i was nervous and excited to actually put all my practise on show for my trainers and other boxers throughout the Gym.I forgot it was a sparring session in the third round and actually started really fighing my sparring panther.I hit him soo hard and unexpectedly that i knocked him against the ropes and rocked his head back soo sharply that he started choking on his own gumsheild
.Eventually me trainer jump in to rescue him and i got a good telling off
from my coach but he was also impressed by my power too.Me and me sparring panther made up afterwards though.I never got to spar with him again after that!
I remember being so scared I kept going to the toilet for a nervious piss in the hours before I boxed.
Felt glad when it was over even though I lost.![]()

i walk into the gym, ancient at 36 and train for two months...i end up fighting a guy with 20 plus years that owns the gym...i almost beat him...the dam ref watched me shell up, bob and weave and got between us..he won tko...in semi fairness the ref gave me two standing 8 counts when i wasn't hurt but missed the only punch where i was rocked..later many that saw the fight claimed i was robbed...i doubt it, but then if it was real boxing, and i had two more rounds...even the other guys trainer said you would have won... anyway who cares. i did what soo many never will do i got between the ropes and i said i am here and i threw down... we are stil good friends...so i guess all went quite well.
My first fight, I took a beating every round but was too stupid to take a knee. My little brother was one of my corner men and he was begging me to go down. I somehow hung on, and landed a double jab, straight right combo and won by KO. I still haven't had my nose straightened from that fight. Ha ha ha.
My memories of my first fight....
Fear, lots of it.
Nerves, lots of them.
Blood, lots of it.
Tears, a lot of them.
After that fight I often wonder what drove me to keep it up.
