JMM should stay far away from 147, as should Pac after he loses to ODH. Casa was noticebly bigger than JMM, the natural 147 lbs'ers will dwarf him. THough considering the cheque he'll be cashing, it's hard to call Pac the loser.

I can see a fight at 135 or 140 between them.

147 would be crazy for Marques and if it was not for Oscars millions Manny would not be fighting there.

He should fight De La Hoya after he beats Pac. Then there won't be any need for Marquez to prove his dominance over little Manny again.
I know that sounds like I'm being a tool but really, what response do you expect to this thread for christs sake. Marquez fight at welter? Against somebody who won't think of him as a future investment and will actually want to pummel him? Yeah real smart. Same with Manny. If he somehow gets by DLH without taking an ass whipping(If Oscar lets him) then he should probably go after Margarito right?

Unless its Pac, JMM shouldnt ever step outside of 135. He's a fantastic fighter but at 35 leapfrogging up the smaller weight classes is never a good idea. He fought superbly against Casamayor, and its at 135 he should stay. A couple of decent money fights there before calling it a day. I think Pac owes him another rematch but Im not sure we will ever see that.

Yeah, no way should he go up anymore. besides there are plenty of fights for him in one of the most talent filled divisions now-a-days. Why would he go anywhere? Money? Fame? Dont think so. he can get that and probably not hurt his legacy by staying there.

From various responses here, it seems that Juan Manuel Marquez will not be advised (ill advised?) to chase Pacquiao anymore... It's the general sentiments that JMM will do good at 135 and just let Pacquiao move on...

The best result for Marques is Manny gets dominated and KO`d. It would force Manny back down a hopefully he would try to clean out 135.

Probably Manny will go down to 140 and fight Hatton...

Not sure that would appeal to Hatton tbh.

Manny would need a good solid win before coming back with a Hatton fight.

I can't see JMM fighting any of those guys and I don't for one minute think Pac will stop at 147 after the DLH fight.

What I thought is if JMM keep on chasing PAC then he might also test the water at 147...

i don't know if JMM need to chase Pacman just to get another rematch.. JMM can do the talking in the ring which far more sensible than using the press or opening his mouth. And he doesn't need to move up another division just to do that. He can clean the division to which i think its not easy but its possible( im sure he can cause he is a crafty old man). This will be enough to lure Pacman for the third match we all waiting for. Remember i said its enough and forgetting money issue coz what is at stake then is the title "GREATEST LIGHTWEIGHT OF THE NEW MILLENIUM".... Legacy is at stake.. But then easier said than done.. But hey i can dream right.. hehehe.. Its good to have both guys at the same era coz they are who make and keep boxing alive. Hope the up and coming fighters can emulate what they have done..

Will Marquez accept a fight with Vernon Forrest at 147?

"Forrest called out—in a round-about way—De La Hoya, closing out his time center stage with what might’ve been his best attack of the night. “And one more thing: Since De La Hoya is fighting Pacquiao, let me fight Juan Manuel Marquez.
    “Because it’s the same thing.”
Like De La Hoya, a junior middleweight, Forrest would be bridging three weight divisions if he faced the new lightweight champion Marquez."

Forrest-Marquez will be a great undercard in the Hoya-PAC main event..

JMM is determined to get a win over Pac so who knows what he will do to try and get one. All I'm saying is Pac at 147 is the only fight he should EVER consider at that weight, because Pac has moved up himself.
