    Default hatton vs mayweather 2

as some of you may have read in the paper today, ricky hattons been quoted as saying that he hopes his teaming up with trainer floyd mayweather snr tempts floyd jnr into a rematch. itd be cool to hear what you think would happen in a return match if it were to come about.

i liked the first fight but i dont think we will see nothing different floyd will always be 5 steps ahead of hatton but hatton brought out the best in floyd but when you bring out floyds best u bring out something thats unreal.

Why would Hatton want to head butt the ring post again? They fight 10 times, Hatton loses 10 times

Actually, if they fought 10 times Hatton would lose 13.

This rematch should not even come close to happening! Mayweather won that fight with relative ease and would make it look much easier. Mayweather Sr is not the right coach for Hatton and would make no difference. He may be able to come up with the proper formula to beat his son but Hatton does not have the tools to pull it off.

As i put in another thread alot of things would have to change just for Hatton to have a chance at beating Floyd. Floyd has figured Ricky out and knows how to beat him i even think he new what he was gonna throw before Hatton did.Hatton gets stopped again if this fight happens.

Hatton needs to worry about hatton/malignaggi 1..... before talking about re-matches he won't win. Don't let floyd senior talk you into another ass whoopin son...besides him beating paulie is no guarantee and you know if he looses he'll be wanting to rematch him as well....one guy at a time, preferably the active fighter, i figure he's more important than chasing down retired opponets, it's amazing people still act like floyd is end all of boxing still, i think these guys are on his nutz more than his fans are..

Except for the first two rounds, Mayweather dominated that fight. The only thing I see happening differently in a rematch is that PBF will let his hands go a little more and stop Hatton earlier.
That fight seems to have left a deep psychological scar on Hatton.

i have to agree with that, im a ricky fan but floyd just seems to figure the fight out after 5 rounds at the most. when floyds on form hes one of the best ive seen, sometimes it looks like his punches are too fast for his opponent to block or slip. then theres his defense, genius and nothing less.

If Floyd turned down Oscars millions he will turn down Hattons.

However at 140lbs with a competent referee it would be a good fight.

No thanks.Just watch a tape of 1st fight.Going on the premise.....maybe unfair but "your only as good as your last fight"....Lazcano was finding a home for those left hooks a little too easily.

Ok Floyd's biggest strenght IMO is his adaptability. Ricky gave him some problems in the first couple of rounds, Floyd made the adjustments and took over. What is Ricky going to do differently? He's fought the same way his whole career. Floyds only going to be better in the rematch, and this time I think Ricky's only going to take more leather to he face and hit more air.

PLUS, he should be worried about getting past Malignaggi, who IMO stands to give Ricky all he can handle.

that seems to be the main question with everyone i talk to about it. what if the 1st fight had been at 140 and hatton had been allowed to fight on the inside?

What difference would the weight make in Hatton's favor? What difference would would it make whether FLoyd weighed in at 140 or 147. People say "oh well Hatton isn't a real WW." Well hell, neither is Floyd. Look how many weight classes he's jumped in his career. He can win at WW because he's insanely talented. Ricky was less than stellar at WW because he is extremely tough but limited.

mayweather would win i reckon same as last time, you cant blame ricky for wanting the fight tho no one likes losing especially after such a good career unbeaten

i see what you mean, i suppose people just assume hatton wouldve performed better in his own right at 140 where hes comfortable.
