Last Saturday night I went to see a horror movie where a camera crew, some fire-fighters, and residents get trapped inside an apartment building. Whenever the firemen try to leave, the police outside have all the exits blocked off. Turns out there's a virus similar to the rabies virus (except that it infects humans within minutes instead of weeks or months) infecting the residents, turning them into blood thirsty killers.
I thought the movie was pretty good (I love the way it ends), and scary as shit. (I loved how there would be a rabbi in the background rushing to kill one of the characters, and I'd practically leap out of my chair).
However, the way it was filmed was kind of shitty. There's a camera crew (an interviewer and a camera-man) doing a story on fire fighters, and they ride with the fire fighters to the scene, where they get locked in the apartment. But what the camera-man is shooting, is basically ALL you see throughout the whole movie. A camera that bounces around, and then falls down during a scuffle so you hear the action, but you don't get to see it. It's a fucking pain in the ass to watch. But it's still good, and if you like horror movies, I'd suggest you go see it.
I also heard that it was based on a true story (the thought of this actually happening is pretty damn spooky
), but haven't heard anything else about it.
