Just watched the first episode of Pacquiao vs De La Hoya 24/7.
A couple thoughts:
-De La Hoya looks to be in great shape and I think going back to Big Bear was a great idea for him.
-I think all the help Oscar is hiring (Berstain, Dundee, Valero, and Zaragoza) is to make it seem like fighting Pacquiao will be such a monumental task. I still think De La Hoya has a huge advantage here and all this hype is to make people forget how big of a mismatch this is.
-Through the camerawork and the training portions they showed in the show, Manny still has all the speed that he's been known for. They also showed someone banging him with a wodden stick to the ribs and arms and Pac cringing and grunting. That looked like it hurt.
-Finally and most importantly, I think this whole thing should be called De La Hoya/Roach 24/7. The beef is between those two and the trash talk is just back and forth between Oscar and Freddie. Manny is just caught in between.
Other than that, HBO does a great job with this show. It really adds on to the hype and is one of the most well-made documentaries out there.
