Apparently he's been at #10 for 3 weeks now...
WTF? Seriously?
I hope this is a typo on the site...
Do ANY of these names mean ANYTHING to whomever votes on the rankings?
Hozumi Hasegawa
David Haye
Vic Darchinyan
BCD
Nonito Donaire

It makes sense that Williams' stock would go up when Margarito thrashed Cotto.![]()
Vic doesn't deserve it more than him
Paul beat one of the p4p guys right now convincingly. He ko'ed Quintana in one round, he went up and ko'ed a middleweight in one round, he deserves a p4p ranking as much as any of the young guys, and more than Antonio.
Of those 10, I would probably only consider Hasegawa, Donaire and Dawson as close to Williams in terms of P4P talent. As far as record wise I would think he has a much better list of accomplishments then Donaire.
At 10 I would have Chad Dawson if it was my list. Donaire maybe but he has let to much time slip between his last big fight. In terms of P4P talent I think Haye and Darchinyan are severely lagging.
Still, not one person on this list other then maybe Vic, Hasegawa (who's competition I'm not sure of enough to make a judgement) has a win over a better opponent then what Williams had with Margarito.
Basically it wouldn't have been my 1st choice but I have no qualms with him being there it's not like it's an abomination or anything.

I must disagree. Paul beat Margarito. Convincingly is very debatable and since that victory he lost to Quintana. The second time around, he beat Quintana convincingly, but Quintana is nowhere near a p4p fighter. He then moved up to middleweight and beat a glorified club fighter.
Vic just beat Mijares who was #7 on the p4p list (I think). By beating Mijares, he unified the IBF, WBO, and WBA belts in the 115 pound class. Vic deserves it more than Paul.
BCD has beat Antonio Tarver, Glen Johnson, and Tomaz Adamek (who is fighting for the CRUISER weight championship in December. BCD deserves it more than Paul.
Now, I don't understand why Cotto is still in the Ring list. Nothing against Cotto, I am a big fan, but Hatton's loss to PBF knocked him off the list and Pavlik's loss to Hopkins knocked him off the list - why didn't Cotto's loss to Margarito knock him off the list?

Well I certainly think he qualifies for top 15. I don't think that to consider him a top 10 is too outrageous although I would like to see him beat Margarito again to cement a position up there.
Because those guys (Hatton, Pavlik) got totally thrashed in one-sided affairs.. whereas Cotto was always in the fight with Margarito (he was clearly the more skillful fighter).
If Cotto rematched Margarito there's a chance he could win with slight alterations. NO-one could ever see Pavlik beating Hopkins and Ricky beating Floyd after their fights.
Cotto looks a much more talented fighter than either of those two as well. I think he deserves to be top 10 P4P.

I totally agree Paul Williams no way belongs in the top 10. I also said this yesterday in Frank's thread, here's my list not that it means much.
1 Manny Pacquiao
2 Joe Calzaghe
3 Juan Manuel Marquez
4 Israel Vasquez
5 Bernard Hopkins
6 Rafael Marquez
7 Antonio Margarito
8 Ivan Calderon
9 Chad Dawson
10 Vic Darchinyan

I don't understand why R.Marquez is still top 10....
If Haye beats Slap or his brother he will DEF. be P4P top 10 status.
1st fighter since Evander Holyfield to own cruiser and heavyweight![]()
While Williams may not have dominated Margarito, it was a clear 8-4 type of win and I think that proves he is deserving of top 10 status.
