Default Slow night, so here's a video of another one of my favorite boxers

Hasegawa has very little exposure in the western world, he has great skills, slick and willing to trade.

Gotta love Hozumi speed, skills and outstanding technique.

    Some mythical matchups...

    Hozumi vs. Olivares
    Hozumi vs. Jofre
    Hozumi vs. Harada
    Hozumi vs. Zarate

How about Hozumi @ Super Bantam?

    Hozumi vs. Izzy
    Hozumi vs. Rafa
    Hozumi vs. Caballero
    Hozumi vs. JuanMa

I think Hozumi's frame is perfect for 118, I would like to see him against Anselmo or Penalosa. Maybe by the end of next year Mares would be a good choice. Hasegawa's speed, skill set and relatively good chin puts him on par with historic Bantamweights to the point where I feel he could be at least competitive with anyone. Generation to generation fights are tough calls for me, the sport just evolves too much to give any certainty.
Super Bantam has so many capable superstars right now, I think as far as matchups go he would get drowned out in the contract stage against the western names you mentioned.

Hozumi has the goods. I thought I was the only one who followed these guys. I am pleased to see I am not. One good way they can get more exposure is to write about them which I do frequently. Hozumi has great technical skills.

    Mijares eyes bantamweight title!
    By Gabriel F. Cordero
We have the information that Mexican businessman Ignacio "Nacho" Huizar, representative of the former WBC/WBA super flyweight world champion Cristian Mijares, was traveling to Panama to try to seek an opportunity for Mijares to challenge WBC bantamweight champion Hozumi Hasegawa from Japan. Huizar plans to hook up with Japanese promoter Ahikiko Honda of the Teiken Boxing Gym that represents the champion Hasegawa. Honda is expected to be in Panama for the WBA super feather world title fight between Venezuelan Jorge "Niño de Oro" Linares and Panamanian Whyber Garcia on Friday. Huizar hopes to stage a Mijares-Hasegawa clash in Mexico.
