I never heard of it Donny, to be honest...until you made this post and then I googled its site and a bunch of stuff on it. Near as I can tell, yes, it is popular...you have to take a load of pills daily, and you pee green.

I also see a lot of people asking about it on forums, in regards to fearing being tested using it. Not sure why.

I am going to look into it more, not to try or anything as I am happy with how I am balanced now...but just to learn on it.

People worry because it's banned in many countries.
The reason its banned is the high levels of Vitamins E and B12.

Its legal in boxing and other sports though.

Its essentially an energy supplement and I'm wondering of the ethical issues?

Is it wrong to take a substance that is banned in your countrty and not in your sport?

I don't think it's unethical in this case. You could easily buy supplements for vitamin E and B12 separately and combine them with other supplements and take more than the recommended dose.

In sport you will use more of many things though so why not take more? It'd be nice to be getting it through actual food rather than a supplement but if that's not working for you or possible then I wouldn't go on being deficient in something just because you are more active than the general population in your country.

I'm curious as to why it makes you pee green. I take vitamin B12 - had mouth ulcers often without it and it fixed me up. The vitamin B12 makes me pee bright yellow - luckily i know it's normal because the pharmacist warned me - otherwise i'd probably constantly worry and think i'm dehydrated.

    The green though!

I've taken it three days now.
It's not been green, but like you said a bright yellow.
    What a conversationalist I've become.

Its a mix of every vitamin available, doses of E and B12 may be excessive, but I don't intend to stay on it long, only until after my exams.

I pack of tablets a day. Eight tablets or so.

The doses, although exceeding E.U allowances are not dangerous if the user diets properly and doesn't have a lactose reliant diet.

Jenna is lactose intolerant and since she was born I've reduced my dairy intake. I've fouind that I may be a little affected too and I feel far better without, so Animal pack is pretty ok for me.

Yea I think the green urine was with people who were taking 2 packages a day, and from what I can tell, not hydrating enough.

I think this form of nutrient requires making sure you are maximizing your daily fluid intake.

It works, its not significant, you piss out most of it by the end of your day, the amount it costs (around $60 per month) isnt worth the value you get out of it. You're better off with protein, creatine, nitric oxide, amino acids, and some sport multivitamins advised by the chemist.

I'm not actually using it for any considerable gains.
I'm happy in the weight region I'm at, I'm just solidifying what I've got.

I'm using the Animal Pak for a little energy boost in the mornings, I use a Whey-Glutamine&BCAA's mix for my post training supplement.

With some Carbs i hope? :-)

Nothing wrong with Animal Pak - contains all the vitamins and mineral required for an effective immune system, energy metabolism which is important for an athlete. Seems to contain all the antioxidant nutrients to fight free radicals which also good - Vitamins C/E - selenuim/manganese etc

I think people look at it and compare it to creatine etc and because you can't actually feel it 'doing anything' it's easier to write it off. I've never used it personally but from the ingredient list it contains pretty much everything an athlete should be taking.

bro what you're saying is right, but like its not magic, its just a bit of extra nutrients, they jack so much vitamins in there, that its more than the body needs, so you end up urinating it, the price is bullshit as well man. But i guess if you've got money to blow then its alright

Athletes do have increased vitamin and mineral needs due to their role in energy metabolism, glycolysis, lipolysis, protein metabolism, protein syntesis etc...

Can anybody find out the exact quantities of the vitamins and minerals in Animal pak? I can't. I can only find info that says it contains them....without specifiying the amounts.

Not sure i agree with the price, probably cheaper to buy several vitamins and adjust the dosage accordingly. That's what i do anyway - price wise it works out just fine.
