    Default Jamie Cox

Although only fighting journeymen he looks very impressive to me.

A fast Southpaw, good combinations to body and head, looks like he has real good power. He was a Commonwealth Games gold medal winner.

    Anyone else seen him?

    Thoughts?

i think he looks a strong no nonsense type that likes to stalk his opponent and then bang away to the head and body. i was impressed with him.

Yeah,i watched him last night. He looked preety good.I liked his attitude after the fight when he said he'll fight anyone and wants and needs to keep busy.To think he took his opponant out with his right hand show that he can take people out without using his power hand left.He reminded me a bit of a young Calzaghe,,,just by looks and with with being a southpaw tooHe said he is after Kel Brook later in the year, now that would be a cracking fight, but i do feel it wont happen yet as its far to early for them to meet yet!!Good prospect

The Brook fight wont happen because of Warren. He wont match two unbeaten prospects. Seems a bit early for Cox anyway.

yeah its far too early for them to meet.Maybe in a year or two!If they remain unbeaten in that kind of time period and they met it would be soo exciting.Im not holding my breath.Brook and Cox look like fantasic prospects.I know its too early to say but they styles look great even know we've only seen a little glimps of them(with them taking out they opponants too quickly). The future for british boxing looks great especially in the Juniorwelterweight/welterweights!

I was disappointed with Cox this time. He fought like his head was somewhere else.

The stamping motion was beyond ugly. Plus the blatant use of his head.

Don't know why he was so wild but I guess the positive is he came through a tear-up with a stoppage win.

When the going gets tough He gets going. Nice to know I really rate this Kid, just got to think more and relax. You havent got to breaking the front door down all the time, Burgalers use the side window. But I really like Him.

for me Cox was trying too hard to please the crowd and telegraphy his wild over hand lefts. He was obviously frustrated with something as the bell first rang.At least he was honest enough to tell us all that it was'nt really him fighting in the ring that night. We all know that Cox is a really decent lad.He reminds me a bit like Calzaghe when he was younger.Great prospect in the making.

does anyone think that the Cox vs Brook fight will happen? It'll be a great domestic wont it??Too soon though i think.

    Cox watch.

Sky only showed one round but he looked like he was trying too hard to KO the punchbag. At least it was another win.

    Keep on rolling....

I thought he looked decent man, but he took some unwanted shots so i guess we'll have to wait and see. There's plenty of people out there who you don't want to take unwanted shots against for sure...

Cox is still rolling so so is the thread

I'm certain now that he is a nutter. He enjoys getting smashed flush in the boat.

I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. I reckon his attitude will change when he gets a meaningful fight... or gets knocked out ().

I'm just watching the last round now. He definitely couldn't figure the other guy's style out. Still a work in progress, I expect the nutter tendencies to increase as he gets moved up in class. Worth keeping an eye on though.

Boxers Behaving Badly update, part two: Undefeated British fighter Jamie Cox was found guilty last week of punching a man outside of a bar in December 2008, according to the Swindon Advertiser. The man suffered “facial injuries,” whatever that means. Cox, 23, is 14-0 with eight knockouts. His last sanctioned fight was in February, an eight-round decision win.
Cox’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 25. A quick search of my archives shows that Cox was also in court two years ago for June 2007 incident in which he allegedly floored a man in a nightclub with a single punch after spitting at the man’s girlfriend. I’m not sure what the outcome of that case was.

The real highlight of the Swindon Advertiser article was this sentence: “The Swindon southpaw had drunk between four and six lagers and a shot in less than an hour at The Spot on the night in question.”

Definitely showing some potential as a world class nut.
