Thread: Barnett vs Monson

I just got around to watching this on Youtube..its a 2 part vid if yall go looking for it. No finish but what a fight. The early part Barnett shows a really improved striking. He put together some good combos and a nasty leg kick. Monson who is never going to win a boxing match landed a handfull of punches that would have dropped a lot of HWs. The middle to later periods had some top notch grappling. Ultimately Barnett is too big, too powerful and too skilled for monson to get a solid N/S position and do his thing. Barnett REALLY needs to fight Fedor and soon. I've really been impressed with Monson in his last several fights and expect to Affliction to match him with Fedor if the Barnett fight doesn't happen.

i'm pretty sure Jeff Monson has a pro boxing record, i forget what it is, and i do know it isn't extensive but it does have one win at least...
