Thread: I am such a sore loser.

Man the fight tonight has me bummed out. Much worse than the Mosely fight because Mosely is such a classy guy when he beat the hell out of Margarito.

About halfway through the fight I wanted a mandatory drug test for the god-damned freak show that Paul Williams is. Then I wanted the woman judge to have a Winky score card. Then I thought, wouldn't it be great if they just gave him the fucking fight.

I had big plans to see a big WInky fight when I graduate from school. Now I am going to have to get in a cesna and go to the White Cloud reservation to watch him fight Virgil Hill somewhere.

It was a tough fight to watch for sure. I'm a big fan of Wright (as you know), and I had a sinking feeling in my stomach from the 2nd round onwards. However, that's the way it goes in this sport, it's definitely not for the faint-hearted. While he did look past his best, Winky didn't look shot IMO, and Williams was always going to be a terrible style match up for him. Winky still has some gas in the tank, but you might be right in assuming his days as a top contender are over.

I haven't even seen the fight but when I heard winky lost, the first person i remember was you booze. I was like "eh thats gonna dissapoint booze".

I didn't really have a favorite going into this fight, i like both guys but i guess its just Paul Williams time.

Losing is hard sometimes. As a boxing fan it can happen all too often for a top, level fighters time at the top is typically interspersed with loses. And it gets worse as the career draws to a close. I found Barrera's losses to Marquez and Pac second time out really horrible to deal with. Then there is James Toney's recent career. Not so many good times against decent names.

You'll be okay Booze, every fighter draws to a close. It'll get out of your system.

I'm still happy for Williams in the sense of, if another up and comer with some hype loses to an oldie, it won't be too great for the sport.. It keeps the depth of talent pretty solid, if not even better now that he has beaten a true veteran..
