Default Khan - Ready to rule the World

Best thing that could have happened to him was the beating he took from Prescott imo.

Never did David Haye any harm at all losing to the Cat a few years back and he went on to Unify the Cruiser division and now has a shot at the Heavyweight title.

Khans impressed me the way he's bounced back and under Roach i think he'll get the title he so badly wants.

I'm a fan of the guy unlike many on here & am gonna go see him against Kotelnik, but the fact is he's in what could become the deepest division in boxing over the next couple of years, what with Pacquiao & Bradley already there, Ortiz & Alvarado coming up, as well as the number of Lightweights who may move up. He's got the talent but I would be amazed if he can dominate these divisions (LWW/WW) at this time. Also have to say that his rematch with Kindelan was one of the most poorly judged amateur bouts I've seen (and that is saying something) because Kindelan won it handily in my eyes.

That Kindelan rematch was blatantly "Fixed" imo and was a mere launch pad for Amirs pro career.

Agree it's a strong division but the facts are Amir made Barrera look like nothing and would have stopped him sooner or later regardless of that cut
Roach has got him bang on it and the difference was obvious to see (hands up high, in out style, fast feet etc...remind you of anyone?) and saprring with Pac is obviously going to pay off and to me it looks like it has already has.
Think he'll have fun with Kotelnik and get the strap but we'll have to see about some other bigger hitting fighters when the time comes.
Sad thing is it's only gonna take one Bomb bang on the jaw or temple and it's good night Khan again.
Shame really as he has every other tool in the box in abundance imo.

based on what? His massive punching power? Sorry Smash that is laughable.

He may have gone back to focusing on speed but as I said elsewhere, he doesn't have the chin or the punch of Pac so it's silly to think he is any kind of second coming to save British boxing now that Hatton has bit the dust at elite level.

Come off it he was boxing Barreras head off and had him on the back foot throughout the entire fight.
    Thats what i saw anyway.

Barrera said himself he was Hungry, trained well and wanted to school him so that was a good MAB who walked to the ring that night and by his own admission too.

Think the ref would have saved marco as he offered absolutely nothing back at all and was shell shocked by Khans speed.

    agreed

I still just cannot get over the fact that people are ready to overlook 2 years of amir being knocked out by prescott knocked down by gomez and various other ordinary boxers just because he managed to outbox a hall of famer for 5rounds who is 13 years his junior and was cut to ribbons within 5minutes.

I see in khan amazing hand speed, good foot movement and the ability to counter both on the front and back foot. But those same old doubts about the guys chin and durability still remain more than ever and while roach can teach him to high heaven not to get hit as often as he did he cannot teach amir how to take a punch or improve the durability of his chin!!

I agree Khan beat Barrera in every department. But Khan to rule the world is laughable. Even Freddie Roach cant do jack shit with that china chin of his.

I wish he'd leave the Barrera thing alone now. He got a bad cut. I expected Khan to win quite handily even without the cut on the assumption that Barrera is long gone as a fighter. So imo it's even less impressive to boast about beating him when he only really had one eye.

Other than that, i like him - and good luck to him. Rarely in a dull fight anyway.

    i dunno about that

khan has to start as red hot fave but having seen kotelniks last fight a few months back he can definitely dish it out as well as take it.

Got caught with a fair few big shots that night that he seemed to just be able to walk through..an easy nights work for khan it certainly isnt going to be!

When did I say he wouldn't beat Kotelnik ?

You implied that he would rule the world, to me that suggets he will beat everybody out there and win multiple world titles.

There's a difference between that and winning an alphabet title against the worst world champion at the weight class Andriy Kotelnik.

If your theory is that you "Rule the world" when you win an alphabet title all I can do is this.....
