Thread: Kevin Johnson / Devon Vargas

Haven't heard a peep about this fight. This is actually I think going to be a very well contested match. Johnson has a great jab and good handspeed, Vargas has great combinations when he's motivated.

I'm going against the odds and picking "Low tops, no socks" Vargas to take away Johnson's dream of being the next thing at 200+.

Don't know that either one are world beaters, but for me it's all about matchmaking and this is very good matchmaking.

asked for his inclusion in the pool at Hvy some time ago,shame he and Haye didn't mix it up.Johnson is in mad love with himself and his jabbing.Actually called himself Holmes equal...>>

Like killer said; this is a great match-up between two undefeated heavies who both have the potential to make some noise on the world scene! I think Johnson can control the fight with his jab but Vargas is more than talented enough to pull out the win if he brings his A game!

The winner moves forward to bigger things, whilst the loser goes back to the drawing board. I think Johnson has the personality & skills to generate some interest if he is impressive here!

I think Johnson wins, but will be hoping Vargas can break out!

For Spicoli, the winner gets placement in the heavyweight pool & deservedly so imo...

They have Carl Daniels on the undrcard .Hope not but this guy is going to get hurt one day.He is now a sponge and the living breathing definition of a stepping stone now.

A decent match-up nothing great IMO. Johnson is just to damn boring not exciting in the least. He sits back and jabs and NEVER goes for the kill. I think he will win but I hope Vargas comes out throwing hard combo's and put's this joker away,but it probably won't happen. Johnson by a long and boring UD.

Well to answer your ramblings ledsham, the reason Americans are following the other fights is because THAT'S WHERE THE TALENT IS.

IMO the real hope of the American Heavyweights is probably still lurking out there in the amateurs.

It's a shame Bowie Tupou is the guy I think is the best up and coming US fighter....but I don't think he's going to last very long being 6'2 250+ pounds

I think a guy like Travis Walker could have really been somebody had someone taken the time to groom him into a world class fighter. Cedric Boswell also never really got dealt a fair hand when you compare him to what Domonick Guinn was handed and pissed away.
