Thread: Murray v Thaxton this saturday ITV4

The gloss has been taken off this fight a little with the way Thaxton fought against Glover, but still should be a good little scrap, I think Murray will end it quick in around 4 rounds. Dont hold much hope for Thaxton when your own dad questions why your fighting Murray at this stage and thinks you havent got a chance, who does.


Weigh in is at Manchester Arndale at 1pm friday aswell might pop along.

Weight In is at the Arndale, brilliant, nice one for that Skel, i was tryin to find out the location of that. They didn't even have that on the Hennessy website. I'm defo headin down there. Goin to this on saturday night, really lookin forward to it. I think the fight should definately have happened a while back. Your right about the Glover fight takin the gloss off skel. One thing is for though sure IMO, that if Thaxton really wants to win the Lonsdale belt outright, then this fight could be one of the domestic dust-ups of the year for sure... I see Thaxton tiring afetr 6 rounds and being forced to stand in front of Murray and trade..... Or thats what I hope anyway....

Despite his limitations, i can't help but love watching Murray fight.

Looking at the history it's got Murray early doors written all over it with Thaxton's recent history, so I'm gonna go Murray on a narrow points win.

I reckon Thaxton knows it's do or die, and will go in with everything he's got, but Murray will have too much down the stretch.

Good fight, Murray will probably win but can he stop Thaxton? That would be a good achievement.

I think your dead on pal. It will certainly not be easy to stop Thaxton for sure. I see this getting bloody, with Thaxton moving well in the first four rounds and then braving on down the stretch and going toe to toe with Murray as the fight wears on. I see a late stoppage for Murray on this one.

Can't wait.....

early murray win for me as well. Dont think thaxton has much left in the tank and the only way is up for JM.

Expect it to go 7-8 rounds before either the ref or thaxtons corner pulls him out!!

Was really impressed with Murray, very sensible, experienced and seasoned performance. On to European title and then world, the old fashioned traditional way of earning the title and not relying on selective opponents and a good promoter.
