    Roger Mayweather: Mastering the Mitts

Back in the 90's, Roger Mayweather did a segment for Ringside's instructional videos, called Mastering the Mitts. It was really neat to watch. A lot of the stuff is reactions based such as you block, duck/roll, and pull away, all the while working your punches. The pull away and counter that Roger goes over is the same move Floyd used on Marquez as well as numerous occasions. Basically Roger is 'teaching' with the mitts. He also goes into positioning, and at the very end shows you how to spin (i.e. turn) your opponent with a little assist behind the elbow. What you see him doing with Floyd is just the shortened compact form. I think it's worth watching. Anyways see for yourself, I've uploaded it here:

-Note the sound is poor, so I recommend listening to it with headphones. I'm considering adding subtitles in the near future.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.

Thanks a lot Chris I'm intrigued by Rogers style of mittwork..

I believe the following is another example that uses elements from Rogers pad work, but a simplified version of it I suppose..

also another guy that seems to be doing a lot of videos using a similar style of mittwork is Coach rick. I believe Coach Rick has put out some DVD's teaching Mayweather style of padwork... might be interesting to check out.
