Just wanted to see if anyone else watched this? Right after meeting Mike and listening to his interview after the fight I am a believer. He is very talented and does have very heavy hands. I think he will give anyone a hard time at welterweight.

Mike Jones is the truth, but he's still about a year away from a title shot imo. He's still a little away from being in with the best, he's probably just edging into the Top 20 in the world right now.
However, with him, Saul Alvarez, Antwone Smith, Kell Brook, not to mention Andre Berto, the future looks very bright at 147 even after Floyd, Manny & Shane retire.
The future does look very good at 147. The commentators kept saying he was talking about a fight with Clottey which was supposed to be made but we all know the rest. To put Jones in with Clottey right now I think would be huge and a very winable fight for Jones but maybe a bit much on the plate. We sometimes see that fighters get overwhelmed by the bright lights, crowds, etc.I do think the best fight for Jones right now is against Saul Alvarez. Alvarez is fighting on the undercard of Mayweather Mosley and Jones should get that exposure in front of a large crowd.Let's see it.
I think the Saul Alvarez fight would be terrible right now, simply for the fact that it could be massive about 2 years down the line. Both guys have the talent to be major stars & I think it's a fight that could be massive one day. It's kind of like Hearns/Leonard, they almost fought 2 years earlier than they actually did & had they fought when both were prospects it wouldn't have been as great a fight imo.
I'd like to see Jones in with someone like Jesus Soto Karass or Freddy Hernandez. Granted either would be an ESPN, ShoBox or HBO PPV low undercard spot, but if he can get a bit more hype among boxing fans, I can see him being in a position where he can start to angle for big fights. I still think he's about 3 fights away from a title shot at one of the big boys (Pacquiao, Mayweather, Mosley or even Berto), but he'd take Zaveck's title if he gets another little step-up fight under his belt.
Like the look of Jones. Zab Judah could be a good name on his resume...
