Default Chavez Jr banned for testing positive

Chavez banned after positive test - Yahoo! Eurosport

He's a very naughty boy. A very naughty boy indeed.

"I did everything (my personal) doctor told me to do," he told the Las Vegas Sun. "I had complete trust in my doctor and in what he was giving me." Sure you did!

And James Toney pulled the "It was my doctor" excuse too, didn't he?

Still, there should be no excuses when caught. Just not cool.

Well, at least it wasnt a performance enhancer, it was only a dioretic, if anything ridding your body of excess fluids would slow you down.

Lazy fuucker should have just trained, might have given some better performances

    Just a couple of points....

    1) He tested positive for a Diaretic not a performance enhancer. Diaretics are banned because they are unhealthy for the athlete taking them and to allow them in sport would be encouraging athletes to endanger their health.

    2) I find it hard to believe a doctor would give something that is potentially damaging to his health. That said there are certain substances that are perfectly legal to take and consume BUT banned in sport. Doctors aren't going to know what is and isn't banned in different sports there fore the onus is on the athlete to do some research and know whats going into his body.

    3) even though this isn't a performance enhancer, it's still cheating really and so I hope he fucks off for a good length of time.

No he was caught with banned diuretics before as well.

If you can't make weight, move up in weight. It's not like he's going to be fighting anyone with a pulse. Why not just fight tomato cans on PPV at 168 like he was at 160?

Some diuretics also have the property to hide some steroids/banned substances, the one Chavez took is apparently one of the family.

shame that. im glad he was caught tho. especially as a repeat offender. this sport needs to be clean. and punishments given out for those that aren't. and by that i mean those proven dirty, not a bunch of speculation.

It really needs to be a level playing field of what a person can do within the realm of human capability and not some new drug someone comes up with to get stronger, faster, better etc. It lends itself to a thought process of do whatever to win. and that leads to stuff like what Margarito did and not only will cause someone to get hurt worse then need be if it continues, but will hurt the sport and lose fans.

so ya. screw him. don't care what it is. if it's illegal, you're a pro, it's your job to know. get busted? screw you.
