Default Hatton Would Return For Floyed Mayweather

    Taken From BadleftHook

Ricky Hatton would fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a comeback bid - Bad Left Hook

In a "duh" bit of news, Ricky Hatton says that a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. could get him to come back to the ring. You might think, "Gosh, but Ricky was knocked out the first time around." And you'd be missing the point: a rematch with Mayweather would, despite its obvious flaws as a competitive matchup, do big business. Bigger than anything else Hatton could do.
From the Manchester Evening News, Hatton tried to take it another way:
"He's the one. Even after he beat me I thought he still showed me no respect. I'd like another pop at him if I had my choice."
I will now offer to you Mayweather's post-fight interview quotes from that bout, which are just full of disrespect:
"Ricky Hatton is one tough fighter, he's still a champion in my eyes, and I'd love to see him fight again."
"Ricky Hatton is probably one of the toughest competitors that I ever faced. He kept coming, I hit him with some big shots, some big body shots, but he kept comin'. I see why they call him 'The Hitman.'"
"He's one hell of a fighter, man. What else can I say? I just went out there, and took care of business and did my job."

Lets be perfectly fair here, with a fair ref nobody knows who the hell would of won that fight

Ricky was fighting the p4p king AND joe cortez, floyd got a hometown ref and needed it as everytime they came together on the inside he was getting hurt

I still say floyd would just have a bit too much on his day to eek out a points decision, but a prime hatton deserves a rematch

Floyd didnt need a hometown ref,Cortez had a shocker towards Ricky but at the end of the day Mayweather was to good in every department.

Classic. Even Ricky said Floyd was getting the best of it on the inside.

Anyway I can only assume he's planning to take on Floyd Sr, because that's the only one he has some chance of winning. Although the terminally ill old man is definitely better conditioned than the Pride of Manchester

This crap needs to be laid to rest...

I don't buy into this... Cortez was pretty shocking but I don't think that getting rid of him would have changed shit, it was fairly competative and then Hatton tired and slowed down after 5-6 rounds.

Forget Joe Cortez, if you could travel back in time and either

    a) Change the ref

    b) stop Hatton from buying into his own hype so much that cheese pasties and 12 pints a day become part of his off season diet

Then go for option B if you wanted to see Ricky win... just maybe he might have had the stamina to perform for more than half of the fight with out slowing down so much that Mayweather can pick you apart and your diminished conditioning can wipeout your punch resistance...

It's not like Hatton couldn't perform at his best and lost a disputed or close desicion... he couldn't hang in there... he was fucked and what ever Cortez didn't pick up on wasn't grand enough to severly drain Hatton to the point that he was at... he let himself down.

At no point did he look like he had the potential to put Floyd away and that he just wasn't allowed to... I don't buy that just because he was able to literally wrestle an old Tyszu into submission that he could of stopped Floyd, whether he had no Joe Cortez's in the ring or ten Mickey Vanns in the ring.

It's time to move on mate...

guess we could say the same about Tszyu against Hatton, we really have no clue how Tszyu would have done if there was a ref who wouldn't have let Hatton get away with all the holding and shit he was doing

Floyd whips Hattons ass 100 times out of 100 fights
