Thread: Best al bums thread

I love music (except the X-factor kind obviously) so thought I would start a new music thread. Basically you name a band/artist and another poster must list their favourite albums by that artist (let's say a top 3-5 albums). The person who responds must then name a new band or artist. You can name a same artist again if you like as a different person will likley have different opinions.

I will start with The Rolling Stones....who has an opinion?

Next band = Fleetwood Mac

I think 3 is a bit of a stretch to be fair, just go with best albums and be done with it.

Yeah I agree, one album should do it. But can we pick a Greatest Hits Album?

Personally I always thought The Stones never really had a strong stand alone album. You look at their greatest hits and imo it pisses on say the greatest hits of The Beatles. But then the Stones never had a masterpiece like Revolver or Sgt Pepper...

Having done a quick google search, I see that Fleetwood Mac released Fleetwood Mac, Tusk and Mirage which all went to number 1. I am going to nominate these as their best albums as the thread has stalled a bit with that nomination.

Now how about The Smiths?

Just out of interest have you listened to any of the more recent bands such as Arctic Monkeys or Kasabian?

That is quite true.

I don't like Arctic Monkeys very much, but quite like some of Kasabian's stuff. They haven't made a great album yet though. The singer looks like a plumber.

I like The Smiths a lot and have all their albums. The Queen is dead is a great album and all their albums have their share of standout moments. I also like a lot of Morrissey's solo stuff too. I think he is an interesting person and some of his lyrics are very good. But yeah, it is very 'woe is me'. A lot of it is tongue in cheek though.
