Gonzalez very good power and his non-chin against Gamboa's sick speed and bad habits pretty much would guarantee an early night. 80-20 says it's Gamboa walking out the winner. Gonzalez-Garcia I think is a 50-50 fight. John I think he stops some where in the middle rounds.
Gonzalez is a true warrior, but I think he struggles against all those guys. Gamboa blasts him out early, I think Garcia has nice technique & stops him late & John boxes well early, gets dropped hard in the 5th & spends the rest of the fight running away occasionally flicking out a jab. He then wins a 120-108 shutout.
^^ You guys make some good points but Gamboa has many flaws himself. His chin is also questionable as he's been hurt by so many lesser fighters that I give Jhonny more a than great chance at beating him. Gamboa makes so many fundamental mistakes such as pulling straight back with his hands down and chin exposed. If anybody can make him pay for that, it's jhonny Gonzalez.
I totally agree, Gamboa makes some silly mistakes, but I just see him being too athletic & too strong. Jhonny is great if he can find that perfect shot, but I think Gamboa would just swarm him. I think if Hasegawa had carried his power from 118 up with him, he could have done this, but he just didn't seem to have the pop to seriously trouble him. I also think Gamboa has an ok chin, it's overcommitting with his combinations that fucks him up. I think John would actually be a great fight, but it would have to be in the US because he'd get fucked in Thailand.
IMO Salido, Gamboa, and Lopez all stop him, but he has good enough boxing ability and power to hang with John
