I was just wondering if anyone started following boxing after say 2006. I think almost everyone here I can think of has followed the sport longer than that.

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
me.
In 2006 I didn't have a clue what was up. Especially with the professional side of things. I boxed for what, nearly 2 years before I set foot in here and started to learn a bit. 2008 didn't know who Pacquiao was and by 2009 still couldn't pronounce it.
If I were you I'd ask Marble and some of the other guys who know the sport historically to give you a starting cheatlist for studying the sport!!
And if you have nothing to do tonight before the fights, go to youtube and watch Castillo Corralles I. Round 10 is the greatest single round of the past decade.
I am fairly new![]()
I got into it from 2006. A mate recommended I bet on Calzaghe at 11/8 to beat Lacy so I stuck my mola on and watched the fight and loved every second. I thought it was mesmorising the way the 'ageing champion' bewildered the young fancied 'mini mike tyson' every round of the contest. Hooked ever since. And in hindsight probably the greatest bet to have stuck your house on.

1986 it all started for me, Tyson and losing my virginity with a girl no less.![]()
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I guess that says a lot that there are only 2 new fans post 2006.

My dad got me into boxing as a kid but I still only followed the main fighters of the 90s. I did not get die hard boxing fanatic status until i was about twenty in 2005.
I probably fit in this category.
Prior to 2006 i only tuned into watch an occasional fight. I cant say for sure what did it but my interest really caught on later.
I wish i would have had the interest much earlier. In the last couple of years i took up learning boxing recreationally and just for fitness.
