You know, I never knew that UB40 was a band and not the name of a singer, and I sure as balls didn't know they were British.
Oh, and that song sucks and you're a fag Mick. Hope that helps.
UB40 always makes me think of Mexico. For whatever reason 'Red Red Wine was playing all the time the first time I visited. What a great experience that was... Fuckin' love that place.
Not a big fan but that song just stands out to me...
UB40 are from my girlfriend's home town, Birmingham.
Uninteresting fact of the day: The name UB40 comes from the name of what we call over here a 'signing on card' It's what the unemployed use to claim benefits (welfare). Most of the UB40 members were unemployed when they formed so named their band after their signing on cards.
Even less interesting fact of the day: My very first job was working in the Jobcentre. I was clearing out the old stock cupboard one day when I discovered some ancient claim forms. One of which was an unused UB40 card. I should have kept it really as memorabilia but chucked away, they're called ES40's now.
By the way, 1 in 10 and Rat In Mi kitchen are easily the best UB40 tracks they did.
A few like that, I coudnt belive Rare Earth were white I thought they were all black.
Well all white / Hispanic band signed to the Motown label.
I couldn't even start listening to it![]()
UB40 are really shit, I thought that was one of those universal truths. Horrid mediocre band. So '80's so appalling.
