Default How many fights would have a different outcome had they been set for 15 rounds?

I been thinking, how many fights would have a different outcome if they had been scheduled for 15 rounds instead of 12.(and vice versa) ... Fights like when Amir Khan barely made it past Maidana and he was fading fast. What if it was scheduled for 15 rounds.. do you think Khan would have survived? I don't personally.. Or fights when a fighter is running out of gas .. Also when Arguello stopped Mancini on the 14th round if the fight had been stopped at the 12 it would of been a very close fight in the score cards.. cant remember who was winning but i know it was close... What are your thoughts on some of the biggest fights you can think that would have a different outcome?

    Rocky v Walcott
    Hearns v Leonard

Conversely think Hagler would have beaten Leonard had it been 15.

Margarito-Cotto.. Had they fought in a 15 round era, I guarantee it, Cotto ends up on his knees 10/10..

Leonard-Hearns 2.. I love the hitman but ray always puts it on him late and he would have lost again..

::SMH:: If that fight was a 15 round fight it still would have still been stopped in the 9th because of Margarito's eye, 12 or 15 rounds dont matter in that case.

I was reffering to a healthy, 2 eyed margarito against Cotto.. Under fair condition in a 15 rd era, Margo has the style to beat him every single time..

Plus in that era, the doctor wouldn't have been as pussified.

Lol Cotto vs Margarito was mainly the reason I thought about this thread. I also feel like a healthy (eye) margarito would have Cottos number in a 15 rounder. I'm not a margo fan but that's what I believe.

Well if thats the case then Margarito with a healthy eye would probably have done better even in 12 rounds. His eye started closing around round 4 and to be honest I dont he can even see out of it too well even not swollen. Doesnt mean he wins necessarily but he at least isnt throwing at thin air.

You make me laugh, kid. You dump on us for starting more Cotto threads, but you turn around and start THIS shit, knowing that you and all the Margafucko groupies will jump on it, and cry about how the fight would've been different if it had been 15 rounds instead of 12.

Fact is, Cotto kicked Margafucko's ass to the point where the fight was stopped. End of. You and your fellow groupies can cry about the fight all you want. It's not gonna change the outcome. The more you go on and on about it, the more bitter and ignorant you all sound. Gotta love it.

    Ahhhhhhh..... revenge is sweet.

Cotto/Margarito II, instead of a 9th round TKO or 12 ROUND UD, Cotto would have won by a devastating 14th round TKO and then Margarito would look like John Wayne right now rocking the eye patch

    Too many.

Cotto would be a disaster over 15 actually. Always tired after 8. Khan too and Ward today.

All programmed to go 36 minutes, but 12 rounders are crap compared to the olden days.

Boxing shouldn't be a sprint, it should be man against man for a good hour and that's what 15 rounders are.

I'd love to have 15-rounders back. But that's probably largely a function of what we grew up on. I'm sure the old-old timers thought the sport was going to hell when fights were shortened to 15.

Marvin Hagler was a great 15 round fighter, mind you he was
not a bad 12 round fighter, for those that could last with him.?
SLR v Hagler, those extra 3 round's would have been to much
    for SRL.?

Leonard-Hagler was won at the negotiating table as much as it was won in the ring. Hagler needed the fight more than Leonard did, and he acceded to Leonard's team's demands for the conditions of the fight, including a bigger ring, bigger gloves, and 12 rounds instead of 15. All of those factors helped Leonard. I suspect that if those three things had been decided differently, Hagler would have won the fight.

Hatton would have been stopped by Collazo and probably outpointed by Magee
