Thread: Worst british champs

The recent cruiserweight champs of britain havent been the best, arguably the current and previous are a couple of the worst champs i can remember in britain at any weight

Can anyone think of any worse?

Yea, Ricky Burns is the worst..

Oh that's right I forgot. Burns is not a champ. He's an " interim " paper title holder. Lol

Joe Calzaghe....fuck him

but also Enzo Mac was once a Wbo "world" champ..

Erm..Gavis Rees..(jeez i'm picking on the Welsh aren't I?)

Junior Witter but he seemed to be gaining momentum until Bradley beat him. Then it was all down hill.

Herbie Hide? Just too light and chinny to be heavy..

Frank bruno

None of those mentioned were the worst as they were all clearly better than domestic level


Also frank bruno is the best heavyweight that ever lived

Any other ideas?

Yes agreed about Fury, Francis had a good run beat an undefeated Williams and other decent fighters until Tyson destroyed him.

Actually struggling with this one..most British champs I can think of kinda belonged there.

Kevin Pritchard
Suger Gibiliru

These two held the British Super Feather title during a period were the title was cursed and nobody could defend it , for years each champ would win against the odds then lose in their first defence.
These two were average journey men.

I mean that all British champs I can think of belonged on that level. So I can't really call any of them "worst"..Although McPhilbin who just beat Leon Williams for the British has to be one of the worst technical fighters I've seen? Awful..

Gavin Reese was NOWHERE near elite lol, hell I don't even think he was among the best at a domestic level
