Default Who finds the US approach to the Middle East to be complete and utter bullsh*t?

What we have in the news is all this talk about the so called Iran oil embargo. Europe is seemingly on board as is Japan. Korea is looking at everyone else and will likely follow the herd. China is maintaining some level of sense in saying 'WTF, get out of here!'. But what strikes me the most is the reasoning behind the embargo. Seemingly Iran is aiming to produce its own nuclear material and claims it is for domestic purposes. In fact the US have recently accepted that Iran is most likely not producing a bomb and so why all this nonsense about an embargo?

And what strikes me the most about all this is that the nation pushing the US on is Israel. A nation that breaks international law by building countless illegal settlements, routinely assassinates people on neutral soil, has a history of warmongering and has nuclear weapons itself as do numerous other nations.

Now where are the US led embargo's on Israel? Instead the US actively supports Israel with billions a year in financial support. US foreign policy to the region is nonsense, but US foreign policy in general is a cataclysmic and atrocious horror.

So who else thinks that the US approach to the Middle East is complete and utter nonsense?

This thread has got off to a bad start as in my hurry to type before going out I have written 'why' instead of 'who'. I would be grateful to a Mod if that could be changed.

I am going bowling, so I expect lots of votes for when I get back and you can vote for more than one option, so make sure you get your Bilbo vote in too.

I'm back and no votes nor posts saying "Yes, Gandalf. You are correct and should incite global revolution". This is extremely disheartening.

I actually don't disagree with you Miles. My only concern with Iran and nukes is their cozy relationship with groups like Hezbollah. If I were president for a day I'd state that we support Israel to defend itself but I'd stop all aid and military training.

Come on, how seriously do you believe Iran's claims that they want nucluer power for domestic reasons?

When has any Arab or half Arab nation given a flying fuck about their own people or their quality of life?

It's absurd, like Gaddafi or Mubarak back in the day smuggling thousands of gold bars into the country saying it's to invest in their country's health services.

Of course it's for nuclear weapons.

Iran is the most pathetic nation on the planet. Last week was hilarious, little Mahmood prancing about on the world stage saying he has the military might to block the Strait of Hormuz, meanwhile having to give grudging thanks to America for rescuing 16 of his men who fell victim to Somali pirates

Iran is so weak that even Somali pirates can attack them. They are the worst nation on earth, comedically bad and with an utter tosspot as President.

I love how Israel just clamly keeps bopping off their scientists to keep them under control. Even if they got the bomb however, they would probably only succeed in blowing themselves up.

    Clowns.
