okay, first thing, forget about this. You weren't going in a boxer, or even really a trained fighter. You were going in wanting to be one. So just write it off as that.

Now, if you really want to do this thing get prepared to put the time and work in. There are different schools of thought about prep time, but personally I don't think a person should be having any sanctioned (licensed) fights until at least 9-12 months of training. Consistent training, which begins with learning the basics, and learning them well. Taking those basics then applying them to sparring to see how they work, you becoming comfortable with them. And when you have a grasp, then advancing. There are few who can make shortcuts in the fighting game. And it's no fun for those that get caught trying.

This thing takes time and lots of dedication. Put the work in and you'll see the payoffs.

No points off for trying. Hey ya went further than most who just sit behind a keyboard talking about it.

Take in advice from those who have been there and done that. Better luck in the future.

He did nail you with a peach of a shot!

But it was more of a brawl than a MMA fight, you caught him a few times too, he just caught you with the first big one.

You've done the worst bit now, first fight under your belt. Onwards and upwards. Fair play for putting a video up of you getting levelled to, that takes some big cahoonas.

If someone comes flying at you like that in MMA you got two choices:
    1. Brawl with them (wrong)
    2. Stop them from hitting you (right)

You achieve number 2 by either shooting in on him or stepping back, moving and letting him tire himself. I really do not recommend engaging in a match where you swing like a crazy person. If this match had gone on for more than those 10 seconds you both would have been shattered. Next time, take your time. Move, see what your opponent wants to do. If he wants to throw and throw - let him, keep the fuck out of that and then start attacking once he is tried out. If he is too strong and cutting you off - shoot in and take him down.

Bring your punches straight back to your chin and work on moving your head while your throwing punches. Your left hand should have been guarding your chin and you raise your shoulders more to keep your chin tucked for added protection. If you would have had you chin tucked, your left hand up, and you head further to the outside it wouldnt have happened.

In boxing..the examination is given FIRST and the lessons taught AFTERWARD. Get a good trainer and take some time to learn those lessons....and don't lose heart over this...it happens. I attended a fight one night where the fighter in the blue corner ran toward the other fighter at the bell, and gave a one punch knock out......and that was under 9 seconds. The loser was an experienced fighter, and for some reason acted like he was in shock, just standing there and letting it happen.
