    Default Mayorga vs. Rubio

Mayorga vs Rubio Battle in The Works For a July Date? - Boxing News

    Mayorga just won't retire

I think this is a very winnable fight for Mayorga, outside of his upset win over Lemiuex, Rubio has looked pretty timid, but fundamentally sound in there.

He is bigger than El Matador and throws straighter shots, so could catch the free swinging wild man.

I would have preferred to see Mayorga vs. K9 Bundrage for a world title. OR Mayorga vs. Margarito, or even Mayorga vs. Delvin Rodriguez.

    But this'll do pig...this'll do....

Mayorga should just retire at this stage. He is too old and you cannot play unorthodox approaching 40. I just don't see the point in a fight like this.

Rubio is standing up to big midleweights punches and is still firimg back. He has good stamina. Mayirga is too small for middle weight.

A K9 fight is winable for him I deffinitely agree on that but only after a few rounds under his belt.

Its so frustrating to watch such an entertaining fighter being fed to the lions everytime. Hes never given the opportunity to go in to a big fight after a period of activity and thats Kings fault not Mayorgas! He could have bulked up a few undercards by now keeping fit and sharp. Hes still a big name but a big name with a few wins will attract a big audience. He could have even been a viable Mayweather, Pacquiao oppoent, even now! Hopefully he wins, if it happens. Chavez would be the next fight and he is massive for a middleweight and takes a good middleweights shot to boot. Its just ridiculous to use Mayorga as an opponent there.

Mayorga will get beat, Rubio is just too big and strong for Mayorga.

I agree. The only tune ups Mayorga has had in the last 7 YEARS were Eric Mitchell, and Michael Walker. Everyone else has been either a former champ or a fucking hall of famer superstar.

Also, I'm surprised people, yes Rubio is bigger and has better form, but he's kind of a big reluctant pussy too...

Mayorga could outbox him and outwork him as he has done before with the aforementioned tune ups. Mayorga at least has SPEED and tenacity on Rubio, in addition to being undersized, ring rust, old age, and being KO'd too many times

Mayorga only losses to the big names, well, and Cory Spinks. I don't see all that Rubio has to gain in this one but think he outclasses Mayorga. Give me Mayorga and Kirkland or Williams now we're talking Sloppy damage and carnage by the truck load.
