Don't think he should go for an immediate rematch

Froch ko8
He may be starting to feel better a week after the event, but he made a contract for a rematch in Canada
I can see him getting pretty much the same result. Froch will over power him he does not have much resiliency to take hard shot's. I'm afraid Froch has that mental edge over him the stop edge is a major factor going into the rematch no mater what Bute has to say.![]()
Has a fighter who was so thoroughly dominated in the first fight ever gone on to win a rematch?
Being in Montreal won't do shit to help Bute, but the fans will probably burn a few cop cars once he gets knocked out again.
Terry Norris lost fights because he didn't have much of a chin, but he was rarely outclasses before being knocked out, even against Julian Jackson he was doing fairly well.
Bute just got dominated in every facet, wasn't so much his chin as the fact he had no answer for what Froch was doing.
Terry Norris should never have lost that fight against Brown, so that is not comparison. Bute should stay away and build up his confidence before going back in with the big boys.
Remember Taylor had a rematch clause with Pavlik but at the higher weight which was very odd. Pavlik won again but points this time and Taylor go some respect back. I think that is what Bute may want to do.
Now you know why Hopkins wanted to fight Bute.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I think for him now its mainly about saving face (and making a pile of cash). This wasnt just your ordinary rematch clause, the deal was more or less made as a 2 fight deal whatever were to happen. I reckon that if this happens he goes into the rematch just to survive and then hides out in Canada for a couple more big paydays.
Saving face my ass. He fought like a moron and did everything he should not have done. Anybody who has followed the man longer then last week knows this. What do you mean this was not an ordinary rematch clause? And FYI all rematch clauses are two fight deals. That is why they are rematch clauses.
Hiding out in Canada like Sturm hiding out in Germany, Floyd hiding out in Vegas, Ward in California or Monzon in Argentina etc etc.
If Froch travels to Canada and does the same thing, there will be no more "big paydays" for Lucian Bute.
If bute sticks to his gameplan and boxes behind the jab it will be a closer fight, but as soon as froch gets close and unloads his shots bute will start to crumble. Froch will stop him same as the 1st fight just abit later imo.
There's no point in this fight, Froch has Bute' number and it will likely have the same outcome. Bute needs to get some wins behind his belt and build his confidence up. Froch needs a Kessler rematch, that's more important to him than sparking Bute out again.
Don't think froch has a choice
It was in the initial contract that there was an immediate rematch
So if bute is wanting it am sure it has to happen
I hope Bute' team advice him to not go through with it. They seemed pretty certain they weren't looking for a rematch straight away and rightfully so, he got badly knocked out. Why would Bute want another beat down? This time in his hometown? It would ruin him even more if he went for a rematch because Froch would destroy him again.
When Froch got interviewed on SkySports News last week, he said something about an IBF rule that prevents someone that was stopped in a title fight from immediately challenging for the title again in their next fight. Anyone know if this rule is legit? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else when talking about the rematch clause here.
