Kind of multitasking so I won't read the link till a bit later, but I really hope that Marquez does retire after that. Mijares isn't a banger and is likely all but washed up as well, yet he was able load up and land bombs the entire fight. Marquez didn't respond well to getting hit with anything and could only trade frantically in response. He'd be life or death with just about any mid level guy he fights from here on, no reason to continue like that.

It's very much time to go. The Vazquez wars are showing there full effect now. The sand in his career hour glass started falling after Marquez-Vazquez 1. And it's about empty now. He's had a great career. He should call it quits, relax and wait for his call from the HOF. He and Juan will go down as the greatest brother tandem ever. Rafael is just as great as his brother. Unfortunally he's just as stubborn too. He's already seeking a Mijares rematch

This fight flew in under the radar for me, but I had hoped Marquez would have won over Mijares.

Its def time to hang them up, really was evident in Marquez's loss to Juan Ma that he was over the hill.

Came damn close to stopping Lopez in that one too, was hindered by a blundering ref.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Good read and thanks for sharing...

Both guys are done IMO maybe Rafa a little more but nothing against him. He's had an excellent career. He deserves and will deserve all the accolades that come to him. I was ringside for 2 of the 4 fights vs. Vasquez and it insane the amount of punishment these guys took from the start.

Mijares IMO needs to go after a title I mean the way he fought Rafa someone like Elio Rojas would probably beat him. I personally think Mijares looked done himself. Swinging around and just flat out tired very early on. Just for someone like DPDL who has a title. He doesn't have much time I think.
