Default Cunningham plans to appeal Fury Forearm and force rematch

World Boxing News - Cunningham plans Fury appeal, cites illegal forearm use

Hope he is successful. Even Wlad would have blushed at being that blatant.

There's no point in a rematch, Cunnigham would get knocked out again.

He could probably earn a decent payday from fighting Price though. Would be an interesting one. Same result I expect

That's a bad move by Cunningham that costs him respect. It comes off as a punk move.

The sole surprise in the whole fight was Cunningham scoring a legitimate early knockdown because nobody thought he had enough of a punch, but even that was only because Fury was coming at him wild with no respect whatsoever, hands down, trash-talking, all cocky, showboating, utterly convinced that Cunningham would be unable to hurt him. That was a good lesson for the young fighter, one he won't ever forget about underestimating one's opponent.

When he got up, Fury settled down and got back to imposing his gameplan.

Ahead of time, this was a simple fight to envision how it would go: the younger Fury imposing his weight, size, and force, making it a very physical fight to compensate for his more limited skillset, and the older Cunningham relying on skills, speed, and experience. And I didn't believe the old man would have enough in his arsenal to offset the 24 year old Giant.

Fury imposed his will and made Cunningham fight Fury's fight.
There was a lot of toe-to-toe; that certainly wasn't Cunningham's plan, but Fury forced a fast pace to burn out the old guy, herded him into the corners and into the ropes where he'd work him over, mauling him, laying his weight on him. Cunningham had no choice but to go toe-to-toe, and desperately at that as he just couldn't keep the big man off him. Had Fury stayed on the outside to make use of his reach, that would have taken the pressure off Cunningham and enabled him to jab and box more effectively, so Fury crowded him and pressured him instead. No way was the older, smaller guy gonna win in the trenches with the younger, bigger, stronger guy.

It wasn't just Fury with the rough stuff either, though he was the only guy to be called for it. ref cotton didn't call the rabbit shots that Cunningham delivered, and there were quite a few of them. Cotton sucks as a ref though, he always has.

In any case, if there's a rematch, Cunningham would be stopped inside 5 rds if they ever did it again, and he wouldn't score a knockdown next time.

Take your loss Steve. And go home. You dropped the UK Tye Fields and confirmed what everybody already knew. He's a joke. You did your job. Be content with that.

He knocked the $#!t out of him, and he's a joke? I don't follow. Wladimir Klitschko has been a dominant Champion for several years now, but earlier on, he took some devastating KO losses, is he a joke too?

Fury did hit hold n hit him with a cheap shot, but as Ruthless Rocco said, Lennox Lewis vs. Grant was equally as bad or worse.

    So was Mayweather vs. Ortiz.

Boxing is rough and sometimes assholes hold and hit. And if they are money making, successful assholes then they get away with it.

You ever see Wlad get floored by a light punching Cruiserweight? Wlad chin isn't the greatest. But only heavyweights with power dropped him

I saw a 30 year old Iron Mike Tyson get stopped by a light-punching cruiserweight...

Cunningham should do what he thinks is best for his career and family.

More like just plain wrong. Holyfield record at Cruiserweight was 18-0, 14 ko's. Light punching he was not
