Thread: Ali-Liston Trash talk backfire

I had never heard of this until today. Ali was just hounding Liston relentlessly and one day at the craps table Sonny had had enough.....

Sonny Liston could have gotten in huge trouble and injured/killed someone even if he loaded that gun with blanks but I'll be damned if that is not a brilliant move by him to shut Ali up...he should have kept going down that path to get in Ali's head.

Maybe it is because it is in colour but that does not look real and that did not look like Sonny.

I am surprised the police let sonny get away with that as they did not need much excuse to try and beat him up.

yeah Lyle I read this in a book that ali brought out in 1974 and always thought that was a clever idea from Liston to shut Ali up LOL

I remember reading about this before, some accounts said Liston slapped him and others said he pulled a gun and fired blanks at him. Quite funny now I've seen it
