Thread: Bellew in position to face Adonis Stevenson... he cant wait to get his hands on em

What happens in this fight?

Will be a decent fight, bellew will have to be careful of his power and the same for Stevenson too. If Boone was capable of a knockout then a focused Bellew could as well. I know Stevenson avenged the loss but it does show that he can still be beat. Going off last nights performance Stevenson will be favourtite. Bellew can box though and he's a solid 12 round fighter. I'm on the fence at the moment, but you can make a case for both men winning the fight.

I actually haven't seen Bellew before, is it worth watching his fight with Miranda? I heard he struggled a bit in that one considering.

Tough to know what to make of Stevenson really, in theory that was a major step up in class for him but obviously all it told us was that he's a puncher. I'm still a bit baffled as to why Dawson took that fight after the Ward loss, but hindsight is 20/20 of course.

He never struggled, he owned Miranda, with ease.

The only problem is heave boxed, he was scared of Miranda's punch, he had Miranda hurt and didn't go for the finish in the middle rounds, u til eventually stopping him late with a body shot.

However it's hard to give Miranda credit for landing a single decent punch.

Not really, he wasn't impressive against Miranda for me. Bellew's most impressive performance IMO was against Cleverly. I expected him to lose that fight handily and it was a great fight that I scored an even draw. He lost a close decision but it could've gone either way. If you want to see his impressive performances against lesser opposion, I guess Danny McIntosh or Jindrich Velicky are the fights to watch. I remember after the Velicky performance he bragged about his power because Velicky had gone 10 with Stieglitz in his previous fight and Bellew KO'ed him in a round. Velicky's record since this fight is utterly abysmal though so I think he was getting ahead of himself.

You've got to be joking. Bellew couldn't put a dent in Mirandas chin! An old middleweight who didn't have the greatest chin at middle. Chilemba looked shaky at supermiddle too.

Bellew has good power at British level but nothing on world level.

Maybe, but Bellews power is hugely over exaggerated, Stevenson looks massive compared to Bellew and I don't think the unjustly named "bomber" can cause him any problem in the power department.

I don't think he will either but I'm saying its not out of the picture, I bet Stevenson didn't expect to get KTFO In the first Boone fight, but it did happen. Similar to Stevenson knocking out Dawson in the first, I don't think he expected to do that. But it's boxing and anything can happen.

hard to tell, dawson may be completely done from the weight cut last time out and maybe any decent puncher would have got him out in same fashion last night. Bellew isn't anything special, but other than last night I haven't seen adonis so no clue really.

Hmmm anyone remember that kovalev guy that kod campillo early in the year, he fought boone twice and kod him in two the second go round, took stevenson six. I think adonis got lucky here, kovalev was unlucky since campillo didn't have his strap due to gettin robbed against tavoris so stevenson becomes a star and kovalev continues fighting on nbc sports or whatever...funny business.
