George Groves' preparations for his super-middleweight showdown with Carl Froch have been disrupted by a £100,000 legal dispute with former trainer Adam Booth.
Groves faces WBA and IBF champion Froch in Manchester on November 23 in his first world title fight, but spent Tuesday at a hearing to work out whether or not Booth, who split from the undefeated 25-year-old in September, is due to receive up to £100,000 from the fight.
The trainer, who continues to work with David Haye, informed Groves by text message that their partnership was over, a surprising decision ahead of the biggest fight of the Briton's career to date.
Now the British Boxing Board of Control have been asked to determine whether or not Booth is due manager's fees from the fight, according to the Daily Mail.
Groves is expected to make around £350,000-£450,000 from the fight, depending on the success of pay-per-view sales with Sky Box Office. Should the fight land him £400,000, manager's fees would cost him £100,000.
Despite the proximity to the fight, both sides are understood to have insisted on settling the dispute before Groves steps into the ring with Froch, who is in line for a £1.5million payday.
The Southern Area will forward the findings of their tribunal to the full Council, whose initial outcomes will be discussed at the BBBoC's monthly meeting on November 13.
"There is a possibility that this could go before our appeal stewards after that," General Secretary Robert Smith said.

i hope it is all a big joke and groves always intended to walk in with booth, all just to make froch wobble a bit

Looks like there's more chance of Groves headbutting walls or employing special effects makeup experts to get out of the fight than Booth and him ever working together again.

If anyone even remotely believes this they are thick.

There is such amniosity between them that they are still working in the same gym...

If listening to the shit that has come out of that gym over the years has taught us anything its to take it with a pinch of salt.

Booth will be there with his grinch grin thinking hes pulled some master stroke in the mind games department and chuckling that Froch even brought it up

Its just all bullshit and after being fed tons of it by this lot some still take it all in.
