What has Chavez done thats impressed you? The best guy hes beat is Andy Lee and he didnt look particularly good doing so. And then beating Joe Blow Vera (a blown up middleweight) twice gets you a number 1 spot at super middle? How anyone can think that Chavez Jr is better then GGG just show how much they know about boxing. Lee was he's best fight and he didn't start out looking good in that one either. This is a fun fight. No doubt about it. However, I would have preferred to see GGG face Martinez if Martinez beats Cotto. If it were up to me, beat Geale/Lee and face Martinez at the end of the year and then if he wins, move up for Junior or Ward.

I'm sure it would be a fun fight, don't see how Jr wins it or anything. There is some sparring footage of the two of them, not sure how old it is. Even there GGG is pretty well having his way, and it probably flatters Chavez a good deal.
I'd rather see GGG hold out at 160 for one of the other champs and then wait for a chance to fight someone who isn't mediocre if he wants to move up, but you can't blame him for taking this payday.

The Forum is the only place west of Kentucky that's suitable for fights EXCEPT for the Alamo Dome.
The Forum should be a permanent fixture for fights and fight fans...
